Jayapatākā Swami: Rukmiṇī then said, “You don’t know how much Your devotees love You! And in what way we love You. I know, Rādhārāṇī knows, but You don’t know.” So then, it was very shocking for Lord Kṛṣṇa. Alright, He said, “I will come as My devotee in Kali-yuga. I WILL COME AS MY DEVOTEE in Kali-yuga. I WILL COME AS MY DEVOTEE IN Kali-yuga!” Gaurāṅga! Gaurāṅga!

Abhayacaraṇa Nimāi dāsa: There is a complaint coming Guru Mahārāja that the sound is loud, we should be quitter.

Jayapatākā Swami: Invite them to join! They are missing all the fun!

So Gaurāṅga came with the mood and heart of Rādhārāṇī and Her color. Because He is golden color, so He is known as Gaurāṅga. I explained in Villa Vṛndāvana how Lord Caitanya was doing the saṅkīrtana. And He did that all the time. When devotees came from Bengal to Jagannātha Purī, He also did the saṅkīrtana. Could you hear in the back? At the end of the Caitanya-caritāmṛta, the Antya-līlā, devotees after the rainy season went back to Bengal. Lord Caitanya, He was researching the other purposes of His coming, His advent on this earth. He would be very ecstatic. He would almost be mad! He was understanding the ecstasy of Rādhārāṇī. And it is said that sometimes between Jagannātha Purī temple and the Vṛndāvana Guṇḍicā, there is that main road, alongside this road there are the Vṛndāvana Gardens. And Lord Caitanya, He would suddenly come in some ecstasy. He would go to Vṛndāvana Gardens in the mood of the gopīs at the time when Kṛṣṇa left the rasa-līlā, asking the trees where is Kṛṣṇa? And He would be expecting a reply! Normally, you don’t talk to trees and you don’t expect a reply from trees! He would say, “Have you seen Kṛṣṇa go by here?” Some trees were hanging down because they were laden with fruits. He said, “So Kṛṣṇa must have gone by, you are still offering Him obeisances! Why don’t you speak?” He said, “The problem is all these trees are male! Therefore, they are not telling us where Kṛṣṇa is. Because they are friends of Kṛṣṇa.” So He said, “I will ask the female friends like the creepers.” Imagine, if people opened the book (Caitanya-caritāmṛta) they would not understand what is going on here. Because Lord Caitanya was manifesting this madness. Madness in love of Kṛṣṇa. And the whole Antya-līlā is like that. So, Lord Caitanya, all the doors were locked in His residence. But somehow, He thought He heard what He thought was Kṛṣṇa’s flute. And somehow, He left the room! All the doors were locked! He ended up in the gośālā by the side of the Jagannātha Purī temple. And He was lying in between the cows. And His arms, legs had entered into His body. He looked like a tortoise! They tried to revive Him chanting the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra. But He was so ecstatic that He did not revive! So Svarūpa Dāmodara Gosvāmī and the devotees had Him and taken back to His room. So it is very difficult for people to understand this.

We know that there are eight levels leading up to bhāva and prema. Bhāva is the ecstatic love for Godhead. And prema is pure love of God. What people don’t know is that there are also eight levels of prema. And the top level of prema is called mahā-prasāda-bhāva. Rādhārāṇī, Lord Caitanya, a few devotees like Mādhavendra Purī could experience this. Lord Caitanya was experiencing these different levels of Prema. Through the Harināma saṅkīrtana we can experience some levels. I mean these are very wonderful! But Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja he said that I cannot, even Anantadeva with a thousand mouths cannot explain even the different ecstasies that Lord Caitanya was experiencing in one day! So I am just giving a hint he said. And, he said that by hearing the ecstasies of Lord Caitanya, with faith and love, we can get purified.

Anyway, this way we can understand what the higher levels of kṛṣṇa-prema are that one can have. People are very interested in intoxication. [Audio break] He would be in external consciousness, sometimes internal and sometimes in between. And these internal ecstasies are very confidential. So when the devotees from Bengal were present they circumambulated the Jagannātha Purī temple, in each party there was a principal dancer. Lord Caitanya in the center and four parties around Him. One party, the dancer was Lord Nityānanda. One Advaita Ācārya, one was Śrīvāsa and one was Vakreśvara Paṇḍita. So someone came in front of Him, He would embrace Him. So King Pratāparudra [audio ended abruptly.]
