mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānandaṁ mādhavaṁ śrī caitanya iśvaram

Hariḥ oṁ tat sat!

Continuing of the compilation of the Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya book : Part-2.

Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Antya-līlā, 16.128

nīvi khasāya guru-āge, lajjā-dharma karāya tyāge,
keśe dhari’ yena lañā yāya

āni’ karāya tomāra dāsī, śuni’ loka kare hāsi’,
ei-mata nārīre nācāya

Translation: “The nectar of Your lips and the vibration of Your flute join together to loosen our belts and induce us to give up shame and religion, even before our superiors. As if catching us by our hair, they forcibly take us away and deliver us unto You to become Your maidservants. Hearing of these incidents, people laugh at us. We have thus become completely subordinate to the flute.

Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Antya-līlā, 16.129

śrī-rādhādira tuṣṇīmbhāva —

śuṣka bāṅśera lāṭhikhāna, eta kare apamāna,
ei daśā karila, gosāñi

nā sahi’ ki karite pāri, tāhe rahi mauna dhari’,
corāra māke ḍāki’ kāndite nāi

Translation: “This flute is nothing but a dry stick of bamboo, but it becomes our master and insults us in so many ways that it forces us into a predicament. What can we do but tolerate it? The mother of a thief cannot cry loudly for justice when the thief is punished. Therefore we simply remain silent.

Jayapatākā Swami: Because Kṛṣṇa’s transcendental lips had touched it. Therefore, it is like transcendental nectar and all the people taking the prasāda are completely attracted. This was also repeated by Śrīmatī Rādhā.

Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Antya-līlā, 16.131

se phelāra eka lava, nā pāya devatā saba,
e dambhe kebā pātiyāya?

bahu-janma puṇya kare, tabe ‘sukṛti’ nāma dhare,
se ‘sukṛte’ tāra lava pāya

Translation: “Even after much prayer, the demigods themselves cannot obtain even a small portion of the remnants of such food. Just imagine the pride of those remnants! Only a person who has acted piously for many, many births and has thus become a devotee can obtain the remnants of such food.

Jayapatākā Swami: Normally it is very hard to get this prasāda. But Śrīla Prabhupāda has given his special mercy by giving this prasāda so that everyone can be delivered. This is the mercy of Nitāi-Gaura that Śrīla Prabhupāda brought all over the world.

Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Antya-līlā, 16.132

kṛṣṇa ye khāya tāmbūla, kahe tāra nāhi mūla,
tāhe āra dambha-paripāṭī

tāra yebā udgāra, tāre kaya ‘amṛta-sāra’,
gopīra mukha kare ’ālabāṭī’

Translation: “The betel chewed by Kṛṣṇa is priceless, and the remnants of such chewed betel from His mouth are said to be the essence of nectar. When the gopīs accept these remnants, their mouths become His spittoons.

Jayapatākā Swami: Who would like to be the spittoon of Lord Kṛṣṇa? You see Kṛṣṇa combined with Rādhārāṇī taking Her mood, Her heart and Her color and became Caitanya Mahāprabhu, and He wanted to find out, experiment what was the ecstasy that Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī and the gopīs felt for Him. Lord Caitanya, He is explaining the verses what they mean, in the mood of Rādhārāṇī. So, He is glorifying how the betel nuts that Lord Kṛṣṇa eats, they are like nectar and Kṛṣṇa gives His prasāda betel nuts to His gopī friends, and they become His spittoons. Actually, Rādhārāṇī and the devotees, they love Kṛṣṇa and they are talking about how Kṛṣṇa is doing these esoteric things, they are actually meditating, it appears like criticizing but they actually like to meditate on Kṛṣṇa in this way. They actually love Kṛṣṇa, but they are complaining that in this way they are dominated by Kṛṣṇa.

Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Antya-līlā, 16.133

e-saba—tomāra kuṭināṭi, chāḍa ei paripāṭī,
veṇu-dvāre kāṅhe hara’ prāṇa

āpanāra hāsi lāgi’, naha nārīra vadha-bhāgī,
deha’ nijādharāmṛta-dāna”

Translation: “Therefore, My dear Kṛṣṇa, please give up all the tricks You have set up so expertly. Do not try to kill the life of the gopīs with the vibration of Your flute. Because of Your joking and laughing, You are becoming responsible for the killing of women. It would be better for You to satisfy us by giving us the charity of the nectar of Your lips.”

Jayapatākā Swami: This is the end of the book on Lord Caitanya’s pastimes. So, at this stage after the devotees have returned to Bengal, Lord Caitanya is absorbed in the pastimes of Kṛṣṇa in Vṛndāvana. So, He is saying that You are responsible for killing the women, You should give your lips in charity.

So, I was explaining, there are five main rasas neutral, servitude, friendship, parental and conjugal. Anyway, this is the mood of the devotees in conjugal relationship and parental relationship they like to see Kṛṣṇa as a small child, those in friendship they see Kṛṣṇa in a paugaṇḍa or kumāra age. Those in servitude, they can worship Kṛṣṇa in Vaikuṇṭha as Nārāyaṇa, like Hanuman worships Lord Rāmacandra in Ayodhyā. This is the highest place in the Vaikuṇṭha. But Goloka Vṛndāvana is mainly for the friends, parents and lovers or wives. So, the wives are in Dvārakā and the lovers are in Vṛndāvana.

Thus ends the chapter entitled, Glories of the Nectar of Kṛṣṇa’s Lips [Part 2]
Under the section: Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu Tastes Nectar from the Lips of Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa
