Jayapatākā Swami: So I am glad to be back in Māyāpur dhāma. This is my home. I early in the morning from Chennai. I arrived at 103.0 am at the airport in Kolkata. Then there were devotees at different places. This way, while coming here many, many devotees welcomed me. When I was in Chennai, different medical tests were done on me and then I had an eye operation there. Everything was okay.
I was listening to a pastime of Nitāi, but they did not send the whole file! I heard half the pastime and my hope is that I get to hear the other half. There, it was described of how Lord Nityānanda wore different gold rings on His fingers. He had pearl-necklace, diamond earrings. And silver anklets, nupurs. And one sinful dacoit he said, “Mother Candi has sent us one rich person, now we can loot Him, we can steal everything from Him.” So they went armed with shields, knives and daggers. They sent a spy thief to go and assess the situation. He saw that Lord Nityānanda Prabhu was honoring prasāda but in all four directions, the devotees were doing Harināma, chanting the holy names. They were roaring like lions chanting Haribol! Haribol! That spy thief, he went back and said that He was eating rice. All the people around Him were doing kīrtana. They were still awake now. So the leader said, they will certainly take rest, let us wait awhile. They went under a tree. One said, I will take the gold ring. Another said, I will take the diamond earrings. Another said, I will take the pearl necklace. Another said, I will take the silver anklets. This way they were all meditating on Nitāi Prabhu. How they would steal from Him. But, Nitāi by His illusory potency put them all to sleep and deep sleep. Deep sleep! The daylight broke out, still they were asleep. The crows were cawing and then they woke up. Oh! one said, you are all asleep. The other said, were you awake or what? This way, they were blaming each other. The leader said, that if we had gone probably, we would have been ashamed as we did not worship Goddess Caṇḍī properly. Let us offer her some nice meat and wine tonight! And they hid all their weapons in the forest. Now, they did not tell the rest, I don’t know what happened! Nitāi Gaura! Jaya Nitāi! Jaya Nitāi!
You are all so fortunate that where you are all sitting, there Lord Nityānanda’s lotus foot dust remains in this place. Nitāi was in Jagannātha Purī. But Lord Caitanya said, We have descended from Goloka dhāma to deliver four types of people - foolish, lowborn, fallen and distressed. Now I will be in Jagannātha Purī, You go back to Bengal and preach there. We know that two rascals, who were delivered by Nitāi, known as Jagāi and Mādhāi. But I did not hear that He delivered these rogues, dacoits, I have never heard about this. Have you all heard? I came here hoping to hear the end of the story! Nitāi Gaura Haribol! Jaya Nitāi!
Śrīla Prabhupāda wanted that we should develop Māyāpur so that people from all over the world can come here. You are all residing here in Māyāpur, that means you are all getting the mercy of Lord Nityānanda. Haribol!
So, I could not stay away from here, but I have to leave right after the Vyāsa-pūjā. Anyway, may everybody get the shelter of Nitāi and Gaura, this is my hope. Haribol! This human life is very rare. But somehow by the mercy of Nitāi Gaura, in this human life we can achieve pure kṛṣṇa-prema. Now in Bangladesh, I saw there are 1600 Bhakti-śāstri degree holders, 212 Bhakti-vaibhava holders and 20 Bhakti-vedānta degree holders. These are from Dhaka, and this is a branch of the Māyāpur Institute. So all the devotees in Māyāpur, they should all be having Bhakti-śāstrī and Bhakti-vaibhava degrees. We hope that Māyāpur, we can make it especially abuse free. In this way, here the ideals of Lord Caitanya should be practiced. And we have an ongoing kīrtana here which is very nice. So as far as possible, we should follow the ideals of Lord Caitanya and the ideals of Lord Nityānanda. Haribol! I will end my talk here.
