e bola śuniñā sabhāra bhaigela ullāsa
ānila rājāre–prabhu kare parakāśa

Translation: Then arising swiftly he went nearby Gaurāṅga’s lotus feet.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.111
prabhure dekhiyā rājā paraṇāma kare
premāya vihvala rājā āpanā pāśare
Translation: Seeing Lord Caitanya, the king offered respectful obeisances. Overwhelmed by ecstatic spiritual love the king forgot himself.
Jayapatākā Swami: Such was the effect of having the darśan of Lord Caitanya. The King was overwhelmed in love in ecstatic emotions and He forgot Himself . He could only think of Lord Caitanya.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.112
pulake bharila aṅga chalachala āṅkhi
preme gara gara bhela gaurā-aṅga dekhi’
Translation: The hairs of his body stood erect. Tears streamed from his eyes. His voice was choked with ecstatic love. Out of Love, the King was overwhelmed seeing the splendid body of Gaurasundara.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, we see how King Pratāparudra was overwhelmed with ecstatic symptoms seeing the beautiful form of Gaurasundara
Caitanya Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.113
rājāre dekhiyā prabhu lahu-lahu hāsa
ṣaḍbhuja śarīra rājā dekhe parakāśa
Translation: Glancing at the king, Lord Caitanya gently smiled. Then the king saw Lord Gaura manifest a six-armed form.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.114
ṣaḍbhuja dekhiyā daṇḍa-paraṇāma kare
ṭalamala kare aṅga anurāgabhare
Translation: Seeing the six-armed form, the king fell like a stick to offer respects. overwhelmed with affection, the body of the King shivered.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, the six handed form of Lord Caitanya generally shows two arms of Lord Caitanya carrying kamaṇḍalu and daṇḍa two arms playing on the flute and two arms of bow and arrow of Lord Rāma. Seeing this transcendental form King Pratāparudra offered his prostrated obeisances and he was overwhelmed in ecstatic love.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.115
avaśa śarīra—nīra jhare du-nayane
caudige haridhvani paraśe gagane
Translation: His body became numb. Streams of tears poured from his two eyes and the four directions resounded with Hari-dhvani touching the sky.
Jayapatākā Swami: Hari Bol! So, the happiness that the devotees feel in Kṛṣṇa consciousness is shown here by King Pratāparudra. This happiness is so great that other happiness in insignificant in comparison.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.116
ṣaḍbhuja śarīra dekhi’ śrī pratāparudra
ānande vihvala bhāse premāra samudra
Translation: Having seen the six-armed form and overwhelmed with transcendental bliss, Śrī Pratāparudra began floating in an ocean of love of God.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, this is the supreme goal of human life, to awaken our dormant love of godhead and by the mercy of Lord Caitanya and by His blessings King Pratāparudra could achieve that.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.117
kaṇṭakita saba aṅga āpāda-mastake
gada gada bhāse ‘prabhu prabhu’ bali’ ḍāke
Translation: The hairs on his while body, from head to foot, stood on head and he called out in a chocked voice, “Prabhu! Prabhu!”
“Prabhu!“Prabhu!
Jayapatākā Swami: So, we seeing how Pratāparudra is being blessed by Lord Caitanya.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.118
ubha-bāhu kari’ nāce––bole haribola
janama saphala prabhu parasanna mora
Translation: Raising both arms in the air, the King danced and chanted, “Haribol! Haribol! Haribol! My birth is successful. The Lord is pleased with me.”
Jayapatākā Swami: So, this shows how the real success of life, is if we can please the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The materialist think that they are the body, the by-products of the body are everlasting but this material world is temporary and everything in it is temporary, but the soul is eternal part of Kṛṣṇa. So awakening out natural love for Kṛṣṇa is the real success in life.
Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 4.16.11
Translation: Again and again he fell flat to the earth before them offering obeisances. Then weeping profusely and holding the lotus feet of Prabhu to his heart, he offered praises to the Lord of all beings, the first among all persons:
Jayapatākā Swami: So, we see how the King is performing the vandana which is one of the nine process of devotional service. he is offering prayers and obeisances to the Lord.
Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 4.16.12
Translation: “Glories! Glories, O Lord of the universe! O, the revealer of the complete spectrum of love of God! O You who reside in the hearts of all beings! O bliss personified. O You who lie on the bed of Ananta Śeṣa Nāga, the king of snakes! Your lotus feet are kissed by the intoxicated bees of the devotees minds. Friend of the distressed! Kindly protect me, who am afflicted by separation from You.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, King Pratāparudra is offering his offers to the Lord. Actually, if one sees the Supreme Personality of Godhead, one should ask for His blessings. So, King Pratāparudra, taking advantage when he realized that Lord Caitanya is Kṛṣṇa Himself. He asked for his protection and mercy.
Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 4.16.13
Translation: While the king offered praise, Mahāprabhu, the protector of all sentient beings, displayed a radiant, wonderful, magnificent and filled with immense opulence form of six-arms revealing His own greatness.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, Pratāparudra Mahārāja had heard from many people that Lord Caitanya was Supreme Personality of Godhead, now he is realizing it Himself . Lord Caitanya is revealing this to King Pratāparudra.
Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 4.16.14
Translation: Glory to the golden moon of Kṛṣṇa Caitanya, who displays unbounded love, complete joy and ultimate charm. His eyes forever rove to and fro like bees in search of honey. Glory to the forever-blissful Nityānanda, who is Balarāma Himself. His personality is filled with divine sweetness and intoxicated by Gaura-prema His form is sublimely personal and peaceful.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, the transcendental greatness of Nitāi and Gaura is mentioned and King Pratāparudra is realizing how Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityānanda are Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma.
Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 4.16.15
Translation: With His upper pair of hands, Gauracandra brandished a bow and arrow, with the middle pair He held an excellent flute to His broad chest, and the lower pair of hands were held in a very graceful dancing posture. Thus the monarch saw the complete form of Gauracandra, which was filled with love of Kṛṣṇa.
Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 4.16.16
Translation: Having seen that six-armed form of the Lord, Pratāpa Rudra Mahārāja was reminded of the intense sweetness of Śrī Hari and Rāma’s rāsa-līlā pastimes, and his body became covered by ecstatic eruptions and tears of love. Thus, while dancing he recited a few auspicious verses describing Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma, in Their ecstatic intoxicated mood arising from Their own spiritual bliss, amidst the assembled gopīs, which form the supreme relishable essence of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, Balarāma and Kṛṣṇa both have rasa-līlā, so, King Pratāparudra was remembering these pastimes in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam and he was overwhelmed in love and ecstasy.
Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 4.16.17
Translation: It is stated in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Tenth Canto, Thirty-fourth Chapter, verses 20-23: “Once (Holikā-pūrṇimā, a day also known as Gaura-pūrṇimā) Lord Govinda and Lord Rāma, the performers of wonderful feats, were playing in the forest at night with the young girls of Vraja.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, this material world is a perverted reflection of the spiritual world. Just if we look on the river and see the reflection of the tree on the other side. The tree may be a mango tree but there may be ripened mangoes on the tree but if we want, we try to eat the mangoes by grabbing the reflection in the water, we won’t get the mango. So, like that this material world is actually is only reflection and the real happiness and bliss is available in spiritual world.
Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 4.16.18
Translation: “Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma wore flower garlands and spotless garments, and Their limbs were beautifully decorated and anointed. The women sang Their glories in a charming way, bound to Them by affection.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, in this material world there are many books and movies on romance, but the original romance is by Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma in the spiritual world. There the gopīs are bound by affection and love for Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma, they want to please Kṛṣṇa. in the material world everyone is interested in their personal lust they want to enjoy their senses. So, there is no comparison between the spiritual world and the material world.
Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 4.16.19
Translation: “The two Lords praised the nightfall, signaled by the rising of the moon and the appearance of stars, a lotus-scented breeze and bees intoxicated by the fragrance of jasmine flowers.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, the situation in Vṛndāvana is very beautiful as explained by this verse. This is the environment where Kṛṣṇa enjoys His pastimes with the ladies of Vraja.
Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 4.16.20
Translation: When all the great souls headed by Sārvabhauma saw their great Master, the illustrious son of Śacī, displaying His six-armed form, and Nityānanda Rāma appearing as Balarāma, the son of Rohiṇī, they also became completely decorated by tears and thrill-bumps. Thus they became overwhelmed and immersed in singing immortal nectarean songs describing the qualities of Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, not only Pratāparudra Mahārāja saw Lord Caitanya’s six handed form but all the associates presents could also see, they started manifesting ecstatic symptoms and tears were flowing from their eyes.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.119-120
ānande bhāṣaye caudige bhaktajana
prabhu bole-rājā hera śunaha vacana
prajāra pālana tora ei baḍa dharma
prajā putra––rājā pitā-kahila e marma
Translation: The devotees all around floated in ecstasy. Lord Caitanya said, “Oh! King. Listen to my words. Your main duty is to look after your subjects. The subjects are like sons and the king is like the father. This is the essence.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, the ancient monarchy was established this, the monarch is like a father and the subjects were like his children. So, he would protect the subjects thinking about their welfare. This was the instruction of Caitanya Mahāprabhu to the King.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.121
kṛṣṇera kevala dayā sama sarvajīve
dehera svabhāva nija jāni anubhave
Translation: Lord Kṛṣṇa bestows His mercy equally on all living entities. According to one’s own work and nature, a living entity receives a particular body. This is known by experience.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, Kṛṣṇa arranges that everybody receives the fruits of their work, and they get the body that they deserve. So, Lord Caitanya is giving this instruction to the devotees.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.122
kibā rājā, kibā prajā--sama sukha-duḥkha
karma anurāge jīva haya gauṇa-mukhya
Translation: Whether one is a king or a subject, both equally suffer and enjoy. According to one’s karma, a living entity attains the results of their karma equally.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, here Lord Caitanya is explaining how the law of karma works. By the Kings and subjects all receive their respective karmas and by that how much happiness and how much distress that receive is dictated by the law of karma but spiritual happiness is something transcendental.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.123
nija anumāna kari’ ye jāne sabhāre
sei se kṛṣṇera dāsa-kahila tomāre
Translation: One who treats all others as he would treat himself is actually a servant of Lord Kṛṣṇa.”
Jayapatākā Swami: So, Lord Caitanya is giving this instruction to King Pratāparudra that how he should act as the devotee of Kṛṣṇa.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.124
eteka uttara prabhu kaila upadeśa
paraṇāma kare rājā ānanda viśeṣa
Translation: In this way, Lord Caitanya instructed King Pratāparudra, who offered obeisances to the Lord with great happiness.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, for a long time King Pratāparudra was feeling separation. when Lord Caitanya allowed Him to come, he showed His six-handed form, and He gave him spiritual instruction. King Pratāparudra was filled in transcendental bliss.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.125
śuna sarvajana gaurācāndera prakāśa
ānande kahaye guṇa e locanadāsa
Translation: Everyone, please listen to the manifestation of Gauracandra. Locana dāsa joyfully sings about the glorious of Lord Caitanya.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, Locana dāsa is the author of Caitanya-maṅgala, and he is feeling great transcendental bliss in telling the glories of Lord Caitanya and he is joyfully singing the glories of Lord Caitanya.
Thus ends the chapter entitled, King Pratāparudra is Blessed
