ataeva kichu kichu eḍiye sabāra”

paripūrṇa haila yadi prabhura bhojana
takhane advaita kare indrera stavana

Jayapatākā Swami: When Lord Caitanya was finishing His meal, Lord Advaita, He started to offer prayers to Indradeva.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.61

kṛṣṇasevāra ānukūlya karāya indrera vaiṣṇavatva o pūjyatva—

“āji indra, jāniluṅ tomāra anubhava
āji jānilāṅa tumi niścaya ’vaiṣṇava’

Jayapatākā Swami: “Today O Indra, I have understood your prowess. Today I have learnt that you are certainly a Vaiṣṇava.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.62

āji haite tomāre dibāṅa puṣpa-jala
āji indra, tumi more kinilā kevala”

Jayapatākā Swami: “From today onwards, I will offer you water and flowers. Oh Indra! you have certainly purchased Me today. Because Advaita Gosāi had the dream, desire to feed Lord Caitanya alone and then because of the storm brought by Lord Indra, the other devotees could not come, so Advaita Gosāi was feeling great indebtedness to Lord Indra .”

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.63

prabhu-kartṛka advaitera indrastavera kāraṇa-jijñāsā—

prabhu bale,—“āji ye indrera baḍa stuti

yata jhaḍa-vṛṣṭi—saba tomāri se kārya

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya said, “O Ācārya, why are You trying to hide the truth? The rain and winds, the storm that came were all due to Your doing.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.66

jhaḍera samaya nahe, tabe akasmāt
mahājhaḍa, mahāvṛṣṭi, mahāśīlāpāta

Jayapatākā Swami: “This is not the season for storms, however suddenly a great storm, great rain and great hailstone suddenly appeared.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.67

tumi icchā kariyā se e saba utpāta
karāiyā ācha, tāhā bujhila sākṣāta

Jayapatākā Swami: “By your will, has started all these disturbances. I have personally without a doubt understood that these were arranged by You.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.68

ye lāgi’ indrera dvārā karāilā ihā
tāhā kahi ei āmi vidita kariyā

Jayapatākā Swami: “Why you had Lord Indra to do all these things? I will explain, what was Your purpose.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.69

‘sannyāsīra saṅge āmi karile bhojana
kichu nā khāiba āmi’ ei tomāra mana

Jayapatākā Swami: “You thought that if I came along with the sannyāsīs to eat prasāda, I would not take much.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.70

ekeśvara āile se āmāre sakala
khāoyāiyā nija-icchā karibā saphala

Jayapatākā Swami: “But if I came alone, You could fulfil Your desire by feeding Me everything You cooked.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.71

ataeva e sakala utpāta sṛjiyāni
ṣedhile nyāsi-gaṇa mane ājñā diyā

Jayapatākā Swami: “Therefore You created all these disturbances to stop the other sannyāsīs, You have ordered this to happen.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.72

advaitācāryera sevā karāya indrera saubhāgya—

indra ājñā-kārī e tomāra kon śakti
bhāgya se indrera, ye tomāre kare bhakti

Jayapatākā Swami: “The fact that Indra carried out Your order does not demonstrate Your actual potency. It was Indra’s good fortune that he got the opportunity to serve You.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.73

svayaṃ kṛṣṇa yāṅhāra vākyapālanakārī, tāṅhāra ājñāya jhaḍavarṣāra āvirbhāva nagaṇya—

kṛṣṇa nā karena yāṅra saṅkalpa anya
thāye karite pāre kṛṣṇa-sākṣāt sarvathā

Jayapatākā Swami: “Even Lord Kṛṣṇa does not refuse Your request. Who is able to make Kṛṣṇa appear anywhere?

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.74

kṛṣṇacandra yāṅra vākya karena pālana
ki adbhuta tāre ei jhaḍa variṣaṇa

Jayapatākā Swami: “Is arranging for some storm and rain wonderful for someone whose words are followed by Lord Kṛṣṇacandra?

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.75

yama, kāla, mṛtyu yāṅra ājñāśire dhare
yāṅra pada vāñche yogeśvara munīśvare

Jayapatākā Swami: Yamarāja, Time, and Death all take His order on their heads, whose lotus feet are desired by the best of the yogīs and munis…

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.76

ye-tomā-smaraṇe sarva-banda-vimocana
ki vicitra tāre ei jhaḍa variṣaṇa

Jayapatākā Swami: … and by remembering you, one is freed from all bondage; is arranging some storm and rain wonderful for Him?

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.77

tomā jāne hena jana ke āche saṁsāre
tumi kṛpā karile se bhakti-phala dhare”

Jayapatākā Swami: “Who in this material world knows You perfectly? But if You give them Your mercy, one can get the fruit of devotional service.”

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.78

advaitācāryera vaiṣṇavī pratiṣṭhā-varaṇa; prabhura sevakasūtre ei-rūpa bala nityakāmya —

advaita balena,—“tumi sevaka-vatsala
kāya-mano-vākye āmi dhari ei bala

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Advaita replied, “You are most affectionate to Your servants. Because I derive strength as I have accepted this fact with My body, mind, and words.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.79

sarva-kāla-siṁha āmi tora bhakti-bale
ei vara—’more nā chāḍibā kona kāle’”

Jayapatākā Swami: “At all times, may I remain as powerful as a lion by the strength of Your devotional service. Please give Me this benediction that You will never abandon Me at any time.”

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.80

ei-rūpa parasparera kathā-prasaṅge prabhura bhojana-samāpti—

ei-mata dui prabhu vākovākya-rase
bhojana sampūrṇa haila ānanda-viśeṣe

Jayapatākā Swami: In this way the two Lords relished Their discussion, and Lord Caitanya happily with great joy, finished His meal. So Lord Caitanya and Advaita knew the glories of each other and thus they are having very confidential discussions. So Lord Caitanya was saying that when Lord Advaita had so much power, even Kṛṣṇa listens to Him. What is wonderful for Him to start the storm and the rain?

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.81

advaitācāryera śrī-mukhera kathā-aviśvāsakārī advaitānuga nāmera kalaṅka o advaitera adṛśya—

advaitera śrī-mukhera e sakala kathā
satya satya satya ithe nāhika anyathā

Jayapatākā Swami: The statements coming from Lord Advaita’s lotus mouth are all certainly true, true!, true!, true! a - there is no other alternative.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.82

śunite e saba kathā yāra prīta naya
se adhama advaitera adṛśya niścaya

Jayapatākā Swami: Anyone who does not relish hearing this narration is the lowest of men and will certainly be bereft of Advaita’s merciful glance.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): Since Śrī Advaita Prabhu desired to become happy by feeding Śrī Mahāprabhu alone, Indra, the King of the demigods, created a natural calamity to stop the other sannyāsīs from coming. As a result, Mahāprabhu came alone and Advaita Prabhu felt satisfaction by feeding Him. This topic was revealed by Śrī Advaita Prabhu to His own servants. But some people who do not accept Advaita Prabhu as an unalloyed servant of Mahāprabhu do not approve of such factual incidents. Rather they consider Śrī Gaurasundara subordinate to Śrī Advaita and thus endeavor to modify the service attitude of Advaita Prabhu. Although such ignorant materialistic people identify themselves as followers of Advaita, they are not to be seen; in other words, if one happens to see the face of such a person, one would have to purify himself from that bad association by taking bath in the Ganges.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, so called followers of Advaita do not see Advaita’s loving devotion for Lord Caitanya, therefore they are very unfortunate people. Seeing them is a detriment to one’s spiritual life.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.83

hari-śaṅkarera yena prīta satya kathā
abudha prākṛta jane nā bujhe sarvathā

Jayapatākā Swami: The bond of love between Hari and Śaṅkara is factually true, yet it cannot be understood by ignorant materialistic persons.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.84

ekera aprīte haya doṅhāra aprīta
hari-hare yena—tena caitanya-advaita

Jayapatākā Swami: If someone displeases one or either of Them, They will both be displeased, just as Hari and Śiva have such a relationship, Similar relationship was manifested between Lord Caitanya and Advaita.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.85

niravadhi advaita e saba kathā kaya
jagatera trāṇa lāgi’ kṛpālu hṛdaya

Jayapatākā Swami: The merciful-hearted Advaita always described these topics for the deliverance of the world.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.86

advaitera vākya bujhibāra śakti yāṅra
jāniha īśvara saṅge bheda nāhi tāṅra

Jayapatākā Swami: One who has the ability to understand Lord Advaita’s statements, he will know that there is no difference between Lord Advaita and the Supreme Lord.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): As stated:

advaitaṁ hariṇādvaitād
ācāryaṁ bhakti-śaṁsanāt
bhaktāvatāram īśaṁ tam
advaitācāryam āśraye

“Because He is nondifferent from Hari, the Supreme Lord, He is called Advaita, and because He propagates the cult of devotion, He is called Ācārya. He is the Lord and the incarnation of the Lord’s devotee. Therefore I take shelter of Him.”

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 9.87

śrī-caitanya-advaita-līlā-prasaṅga-śravaṇe kalyāṇa phala-lābha—

bhakti kari’ ye śunaye e saba ākhyāna
kṛṣṇe bhakti haya tāra sarvatra kalyāṇa

Jayapatākā Swami: Anyone who hears these pastimes with devotion will achieve the most auspicious devotional service of Lord Kṛṣṇa. So these confidential pastimes between Lord Caitanya and Lord Advaita, if one hears with full devotion and faith, then naturally they will get all the auspicious pure devotion to Lord Kṛṣṇa.

Haribol!

Thus ends the chapter entitled, Phalaśruti – The Result of Hearing About the Pastime of Lord Caitanya and Advaita Ācārya.
