20150211 Darśana to Her Grace Mano Rūpa devī dāsī

11 Feb 2015|Duration: 00:21:11|English|Darśana|Śrī Māyāpur, India

So your chanting is very beautiful. Manorūpa is such a person that she always gave her life to the service of guru and Kṛṣṇa. So nice to see how devotees are nicely reciprocating with her and chanting and encouraging her. We hope for some miracle.

But in any case it is always good medicine is to hear the holy names. Golokera prema-dhana, hari-nāma-saṅkīrtana. This chanting of the holy names has come from Goloka Vrindavan. Lord Caitanya is the combined form of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa. He promised that He would also spread the chanting and that He would also research the mood of His devotees because He was challenged by Rukmini that one thing that You don’t know, You don’t know how much Your devotees love You and what way they love You. So, Lord Caitanya just to research this he took the mood of Rādhārāṇī. So, here in Navadvipa dhām, this dhām is made by Rādhārāṇī for the pleasure of Kṛṣṇa. In fact here She played a flute and Kṛṣṇa who is known as Madanmohan because of His flute playing, when He heard the playing of Rādhārāṇī’s flute, He became attracted. ‘Who is playing this flute?’ He wanted to know. He followed and found that it was Srimati Rādhārāṇī here in Navadvipa dhām. So this is how Rādhārāṇī attracted Kṛṣṇa.

This place is not different from Vrindavan. Here the mercy flows. Jagannatha Das Babaji he found it too intense in Vrindavan. He came to Navadvipa  Dhām and here he realises his siddha swarup. So this is such a wonderful place. One time Prabhupāda came to his room and he said, ‘Māyāpur!’. He drank from his goblet and said ‘Māyāpur!’ Golden cup. “Living or dying in Māyāpur, it is all the same” (laughter). Being a bit stupid I asked what does that mean? He said, “You live in Māyāpur, you are living in the spiritual world and if you leave your body here you go back to the spiritual world.”

So, your chanting the holy names is very pleasing to Lord Caitanya and very pleasing to Radha Mādhava. The names of the Lord and the Lord are non-different. The dhāms of the Lord and the Lord are non-different. There are so many things like glories of Kṛṣṇa and Kṛṣṇa are non-different. The līla of Kṛṣṇa and Kṛṣṇa are non-different. So you all are absorbing yourself in Kṛṣṇa’s service and helping Manorūpa to be always in meditation of Lord Caitanya, Radha Mādhava. If I glorify her too much she will be angry with me (laughter) but she certainly due to receiving a lot of praise; one of the rare spiritual daughters who is giving out Lord Caitanya’s mercy.

Guru Mahārāja: How you feel today?

Devotee: Seven days, she is feeling weak because of the fasting Guru Mahārāja.

Guru Mahārāja: We brought some Tirupati laddu for her.

Devotee: She has been taking little bit, she will take it if you give, Guru Mahārāja. She will take a speck if you give.

Guru Mahārāja: Even a speck is a great thing.

Devotee: Today, since early morning she has been very weak already. It is already been almost, very long days, since she has had only liquids, since last week. Only water. Physically little low in energy, spiritually she is so happy to know that you are here, Prabhu came also. Bīr Kṛṣṇa Mahārāja came to read again today. Devotees also come for kirtan constantly.

Guru Mahārāja: Lord Caitanya just started to read, started the studies, He used to go every day after studies to the Ganges. He just started His studies the ABC’s. He was very mischievous. He would go and exchange the ladies garments with the men’s garments. They would come out and say, ‘Oh where are my clothes!’ It would be very embarrassing. He would pull the leg of some brāhmaṇa singing the gāyatrī from under the water. Then they would complain. Then Lord Caitanya said I’m the father of the Ganges! And one person was saying gāyatrī and He took water in His mouth and spit it out on him (laughter). Brāhmaṇa thought ‘What is this!’ Actually he was blessed. So like this you can say he was creating a big disturbance. Actually He was giving His mercy to all these people. Then all the brāhmaṇa men went and complained to Jagannātha Miśra, ‘Your son is doing this and this and this and this’.  Jagannātha Miśra picked up a stick and said ‘Okay, I will get Him today’. They said, ‘No, no, not that we want to chase him with the stick or something’.  Then the little girls came and complained to Saci devi, ‘We saw that Jagannātha Miśra was going to the Ganges to get Lord Caitanya’. They ran ahead and told Lord Caitanya, ‘Your father is coming with a stick! Get out of here, quick!’  So He talked with His friends and He left. So, Jagannātha Miśra came and His friends said, ‘When is your son coming, we are waiting for Him!’ (laughter). Then he is wondering, ‘These Brāhmaṇa men, they don’t lie to me!’

Then he went back home and waited for Lord Caitanya and Lord Caitanya went. He was covered with dust, He had spots on the hair and hands were dry. If someone swims their hands like curl up. But His hands were dry. No signs of having taken a bath. So, Jagannātha Miśra began to wonder, ‘What these Brāhmaṇas were talking?’ But Lord Caitanya said, ‘Hard day at school! I need to take bath’. Then He went to the Ganges. Then He told, ‘You people are complaining about me? Now I will really show you’ (laughter). This is how He spent his paugaṇḍa-hood.

Devotee: So different Guru Mahārāja, Lord Caitanya’s countenance after. He was never playful, He was like so sober.

Guru Mahārāja: Yes afterwards. But even then, when He was, like the Brāhmaṇas in Sri Rangam, they said that, ‘Why don’t you worship Nārāyaṇa, He is the head. He is the fountain head of all the avatārs. So Kṛṣṇa also comes from Nārāyaṇa’. So Lord Caitanya said, ‘Well if you say that Nārāyaṇa is the head, then Mahā-lakṣmi should be the heroine. But we see that Mahā-lakṣmi, She did a fast to enter into Kṛṣṇa’s rāsa-līla. But She wasn’t accepted.’  So, Lord Caitanya had His way of joking. But He was of course different. Being a kid you can get away with stuff.  But He wouldn’t admit that He was Kṛṣṇa. When He was child, He said ‘I’m Kṛṣṇa, I’m the father of the Ganges’.  Nobody would take it seriously. So He would do those things. But as an adult He was very serious about giving out the holy names. Kṛṣṇa went to few houses but Lord Caitanya spent six years travelling. Apart from the rainy season, every day He would stay in a different house. The wife would pour water on His feet and husband would massage His feet. And then they would give Lord Caitanya a seat. They would cook prasādam and husband would serve out. And whole family would sit with the neighbours and Lord Caitanya would give them some instructions. So I was calculating that thousands of houses were given the mercy like this. How would you like Lord Caitanya to come to your house? (Haribol, Gauranga). You have to cook for Him and pour water on His feet and drop the water in.
