20240815 Initiation Address

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānanda-mādhavam śrī caitanya īśvaram
Harihi oṁ tat sat

Jayapatākā Swami: Those who have taken shelter of the guru, guru-āśraya and from there have determined in their mind, they will today take initiation from me today. I am not giving any new guru-āśraya. I hope that those who were in the process of becoming dīkṣā-guru, they will give initiation to the new disciples who seek initiation. And also the new disciples seeking initiation will take guru-āśraya from them. Now, those are from the same family who are there, if they desire, they can maybe take guru-āśraya from me. But I am quite old now and I don’t want to give new guru-āśraya now. All of you have taken your oaths I hope. There are four regulative principles to be followed. No meat eating, no gambling, no intoxication and no illicit sex. I hope that those who have taken guru-āśraya, they are following these four principles.

Now one disciple wanted to say that I don’t want to follow these regulative principles and he showed on video that he was eating meat! Then, he wrote a letter, I did not eat, I just wanted to show you, I pretended to be eating on the video! If any of you present here do not want to take dīkṣā or initiation or someone is forcing you to take initiation, you can take initiation from His Holiness Gaurāṅga Prema Swami or from any other ISKCON gurus. Now, that you are taking initiation I think you will all follow these regulative principles very well. And you will chant 16 rounds, 1,728 times of the mahā-mantra chanting, every day.

Now, if you do not follow the regulative principles, I will have to face the reactions. Physically or I may get bad dreams or other ways I will have to suffer. If you follow all the principles properly and do devotional service then you can all go back to Godhead. But if you do not follow the principles then there is no use. And Lord Kṛṣṇa will question me why I have brought such useless people to Me? If you follow the principles then Lord Kṛṣṇa will take me. I am depending on the Nāma-haṭṭa that you are observing the principles very well. Now we will announce your spiritual names and give you the beads.

Now the intiation ceremony is over and there will be the fire sacrifice and you will offer ahuti. Now you have all got your spiritual names. Are you all happy? Now, Panca-tattva want that the holy name be preached in every town and village. So much mercy the Panca-tattva are giving all of you! Now Lord Caitanya has come to liberate everyone! Lord Caitanya is very merciful, you should preach this. All your friends, family, relatives, tell them that this human life is meant for doing devotional service to the Lord. I offer all of you my best wishes!
