20221116 Deity Installation Netronmilanam Ceremony Address

The following is an address given by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on November 16th,2022 in Haldia, India. The address was given during the Deity Installation Adhivāsa ceremony

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānandaṁ mādhavaṁ śrī caitanya iśvaram

Hariḥ oṁ tat sat!

Jayapatākā Swami: Ulu-dhavni! Hari-dhvani! Haribol! Haribol! Haribol!

Tomorrow we will have the installation of the Deities.

That is why our pūjārīs and all of us will welcome the Lord.

But all of with your mind and heart pray to the Lord and request Him to come here.

He comes to give you an opportunity to serve Him.

Who all here want to serve the Lord, please raise your hand?

Very nice! The Deities are coming so that you can serve Them.

Many of you want peace right?

In the Bhagavad-gītā there is a peace formula –

bhoktāraṁ yajña-tapasāṁ sarva-loka-maheśvaram
suhṛdaṁ sarva-bhūtānāṁ jñātvā māṁ śāntim ṛcchati

If we understand this jñātvā mām śāntir ṛcchati, we do all sacrifices, any activities for the sake of the Lord.

He is the Lord of all the unlimited universes.

sarva-loka-maheśvaram

All the lokas, all the universes, He is the owner.

And He is everyone’s suhṛda.

He has no enemies or friends, everyone is His suhṛda.

But those who are His devotees, He assists them specially.

Here, who all want to be a devotee?

No one but a devotee can love the Lord.

The devotee will love the Lord, and he will obtain unlimited bliss in return.

The Lord says: sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja Only surrender to Me.

Ahaṁ tvāṁ sarva-pāpebhyo mokṣayiṣyāmi mā śucaḥ (Bg. 18.66) – I will relieve you of all your sins.

If you come to Me I will make you happy.

Even though the Lord says this, there are so many people in the world who do not want to go to the Lord.

The Lord says, you surrender to Me and I will make you happy.

But the person thinks if I have ten thousand rupees, I will be happy.

If he buy a lottery ticket, he can get one lac rupees! Wow! But he did not get.

Some people are sick, they grow old and die.

Even if you stay for lacs and lacs of years in this material world you can never be really happy, will never be satisfied.

There are many places, many aspirations, many desires, but worshiping the Lord is the only solution.

akāmaḥ sarva-kāmo vā mokṣa-kāma udāra-dhīḥ tīvreṇa bhakti-yogena yajeta puruṣaṁ param (ŚB 2.3.10) Those who do not have any material desire, pure devotees, and those who have all material desires, or those who desire liberation, all should surrender and worship the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Now you have come to form a relationship with the Lord.

Tomorrow the Lord will come here, and you have all come to serve the Lord.

You will dance in front of the Lord, will pray to the Lord, pray for pure devotion to the Lord.

And some will give various gifts – fruits, grains, donation, etc. for the Lord.

So the Lord has given you this opportunity to serve Him.

In this material world we have many material passions.

And when this body dies, we have to take birth again.

But if we want to serve the Lord, if we want pure devotion for the Lord, then we can go back to Godhead at the end of this life.

Yesterday, where I was there was an old man who was chanting Rādhā Govinda and saying that he left his body.

Antaḥ nārāyaṇa smṛti. If we remember the Lord at the time of death, we will go back to the Lord.

If we are practiced to chanting the name of the Lord all the time, that we never forget the Lord, then at the time of death we will remember the Lord.

Now we can ordinarily not see the Lord.

That is why He comes in the Deity form.

So that we can worship the Lord, we can offer bhoga and do various services to the Lord.

So the Lord is giving us an opportunity – Lord Caitanya said that take the name of the Lord, do kīrtana of the Lord and also dance in bliss for the Lord. Haribol! This way, prema-bhakti for the Lord will rise in the heart.

Now, Lord Caitanya came to give everyone the opportunity to get prema-bhakti for the Lord.

Generally, to get this from Lord Kṛṣṇa, He says, surrender unto Me.

But Lord Caitanya He does not see who is qualified or who is not qualified – if they chant Hare Kṛṣṇa then He distributes it to everyone.

Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare
Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare!

Gaura Hari! Gaurāṅga! Gaura Hari!

śrī-kṛṣṇa-caitanya prabhu-nityānanda
śrī-advaita gadādhara śrīvāsādi-gaura-bhakta-vṛnda

Haribol! We want that after this birth you go back to God.

Take the name of Kṛṣṇa, serve Kṛṣṇa.

I saw a drama in Chennai.

There were three children who acted.

One young girl was Yamarāja and had a mustache drawn on her face.

Two were Yamadūtas.

The Yamadūtas said: we went to some ISKCON gṛhastha homes and we saw that there lady is cooking and offering the food to Lord Jagannātha.

They are eating kṛṣṇa-prasāda.

The husband is reading Bhagavad-gītā, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Caitanya-caritāmṛta, and the whole family is hearing.

Everyone together take the name of Kṛṣṇa.

If this kind of thing happens everywhere then we will be jobless! I will not be able to take them to hell and torture them.

Who of you would like to give mercy to the Yamadūtas?

Who of you would want to give the Yamadūtas a vacation? Haribol!

That way if you take the name of Kṛṣṇa, the Yamadūtas will take a vacation.

But if you don’t do that then the Yamadūtas will be happy and take you away!

Haribol!

Tomorrow Jagannātha and His brother and sister and Sudarśana are coming!

And Rādhā Kṛṣṇa, Gaura Hari are also coming!

All of you please pray that the Lord please come, so that you can all serve the Lord.

I am very happy to see this beautiful temple in Haldia and I gratefully thank all the congregation devotees.
