Jayapatākā Swami: Welcome to Harihara Kṣetra. Here we have the Deities of Lord Viṣṇu and Lord Śiva. Lord Śiva was attracted by the Mohinī Rūpa. And he felt very remorseful for that. But Lord Viṣṇu came and said that since Mohinī Mūrti is Me and it is non-different from you, therefore there is no reason to feel bad. And here He showed that Lord Viṣṇu are combined together as Harihara. In this place, if anyone dies, Lord Śiva chants in their ear, Gaurāṅga! Gaurāṅga! Gaurāṅga! So that the person can go back to Godhead.

Here to the west is the Alakānandā river. On the other side of the river there was a forest that Lord Caitanya with Gadādhara and other associates came. This is in the Prema-vaivarta book by Jagadānanda Paṇḍita. So Lord Caitanya was just a boy. And He had after school, He was running here. Then He saw a śuka-pākhī, a type of parrot.

So He picket the parrot up in His hand and He said, “You are not different from Śukadeva Gosvāmī! Tell Me the pastime of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa.”

But then the parrot began to chant: “Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura!”

And Lord Caitanya let the parrot go off His hand. And the parrot, he landed on the branch of a tree. He said, “I am a devotee of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa. I don’t want to hear that, I want to hear the glories of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa. Please chant the glories of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa.”

Again the parrot began to chant: “Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura!” Lord Caitanya, He covered His ears. “Why don’t you chant the glories of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa” He asked.

The parrot replied: “I chant Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa in my way! You can chant in Your way. For me, Rādhā is present as Gadādhara and Kṛṣṇa is present as Guara! So I chant since time immemorial, I chant Gaura Gaura! Gauara Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura!”

Lord Caitanya covering His ears, He ran away! So this pastime happened on the site of Harihara Kṣetra, on the other side of the Alakānandā river. Hare Kṛṣṇa!

I hope you are all enjoying your Navadvīpa Parikramā. Now you are in the holy land of Godrumadvīpa which is the land of kīrtana. And here there are many pastime places. I am very happy that you are visiting Godrumadvīpa, and her Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura, he lived. Here was also the pastime place where Lord Caitanya, He liberated a Devakumāra, who was cursed by Durvāsā Muni. Here in Godrumadvīpa is the house of Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura. Here is the special place, Surabhi-kuñja and here is the ISKCON temple of Jagannātha Baladeva Subhadrā, which is in the Trust name of Arogya Āśrama. So there are many places here in Godrumadvīpa. And from here I think you go to Madhyadvīpa. Haribol!
