Jayapatākā Swami: Caitanya Mahāprabhu took a bird and said, “Say Hare Kṛṣṇa!” The bird said, “Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura!” Lord Caitanya said, “No, I want to hear the glories of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam from Śukadeva Gosvāmī’s lotus mouth.” And again the parrot said, “Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura!” So, that did not please Lord Caitanya, He said, “I don’t want to hear Gaura, I want to hear Vṛndāvana pastimes.” The parrot said that, “This is the mantra I have been chanting my whole life and I don’t know any other mantra. Before Me I see Kṛṣṇa and Rādhārāṇī. Lord Caitanya and Gadādhara.”

The parrot said, “I will chant the mantra I know and if You don’t like it, you can chant any other mantra. But I will chant “Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura Gaura!”” This happened in part of Godrumadvīpa, the east of Harihara-kṣetra. So today you all went to Godrumadvīpa and there we have the forest of Lord Caitanya and we have the house of Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura. And we have the Surabhi-kuñja.

Surabhi-kuñja is the place where Lord Nityānanda started the Nāmahaṭṭa. And there one of the Surabhi cows comes from the spiritual world. And so there, Lord Nityānanda rolled on the ground, and He was in Surabhi-kuñja. When the whole universe was having the kalpa-pralaya, then Mārkaṇḍeya Ṛṣi he didn’t know where he was. And he saw an island. So, he tried to swim to the island. He had received the blessing from Lord Śiva to survive the seven days of Lord Brahmā. But at the end of the universe, he did not know where to eat and then he arrived at the Surabhi-kuñja and then he begged for some milk from the Surabhi-cow. So, with that milk he survived. You visited the Surabhi-kuñja. That place is very dear to Lord Nityānanda.

Anyone who is able can take one of the gold, silver or bronze medallions for the TOVP. Braja-vilāsa Prabhu will accept your pledge. Hare Kṛṣṇa!
