The following is a Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Book Compilation given by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on October 18th, 2021 in Śrī Dhāma Māyāpur, India.

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānandaṁ mādhavaṁ śrī caitanya iśvaram

Hariḥ oṁ tat sat!

Śrī Vallabha Bhaṭṭa Offers Lunch to Lord Caitanya, Rūpa Gosvāmī and Śrī Vallabha

Caitanya Caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā 19.77

sagaṇa prabhu-saṅge nadī uttaraṇa:—

sagaṇe prabhure bhaṭṭa naukāte caḍāñā
bhikṣā dite nija-ghare calilā lañā

Translation: Vallabha Bhaṭṭācārya then put Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and His associates aboard a boat and took them to his own place to offer them lunch.

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrī Vallabha Bhaṭṭa was personally taking Lord Caitanya and His associates to his home to take lunch. So, this shows that he had a very nice relationship with Lord Caitanya.

Caitanya Caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā 19.78

yamunāra nīlajala-darśane kṛṣṇoddīpanahetu prabhura premāveśa:—

yamunāra jala dekhi’ cikkaṇa śyāmala
premāveśe mahāprabhu ha-ilā vihvala

Translation: While crossing the river Yamunā, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu saw the glossy black water and was immediately bewildered with ecstatic love.

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya would become bewildered in Vṛndāvana and express ecstatic love and here the Yamunā was visible in Prayāga, this also inspired Lord Caitanya’s ecstatic love.

Caitanya Caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā 19.79

prabhura yamunāya jhampapradāna, sakalera trāsa:—

huṅkāra kari’ yamunāra jale dilā jhāṅpa
prabhu dekhi’ sabāra mane haila bhaya-kāṅpa

Translation: Indeed, as soon as Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu saw the river Yamunā, He immediately made a great sound and jumped into the water. Everyone was filled with fear and trembling to see this.

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya would do unexpected things in His ecstatic mood, just as in Vṛndāvana when He saw the Yamunā He felt great ecstasy. So, crossing the Yamunā by boat, he felt some loving ecstasy and jumped from the boat into the water and every body became extremely worried of what happened.

Caitanya Caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā 19.80

prabhuke naukāya uttolana, prabhura nṛtya:—

āste-vyaste sabe dhari’ prabhure uṭhāila
naukāra upare prabhu nācite lāgila

Translation: They all hastily grabbed Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and pulled Him out of the water. Once on the boat’s platform, the Lord began to dance.

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya's unexpected ecstasy even after they pulled Him out of the water, He started dancing on the boat in ecstatic love.

Caitanya Caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā 19.81

nṛtyabhare naukā vicalita-prāya:—

mahāprabhura bhare naukā kare ṭalamala
ḍubite lāgila naukā, jhalake bhare jala

Translation: Due to the Lord’s heavy weight, the boat began to tilt. It began filling up with water and was on the verge of sinking.

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya was not aware of what was happening, He was completely absorbed in love of Kṛṣṇa and He was dancing in ecstasy and other people, they saw the boat, it was almost going to sink, and they are getting worried about what will happen.

Caitanya Caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā 19.82

bahiraṅga bhaṭṭa-samīpe samvaraṇa-ceṣṭā-sattveo prabhura prema-mattatā:—

yadyapi bhaṭṭera āge prabhura dhairya haila mana
durvāra udbhaṭa prema nahe samvaraṇa

Translation: Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu tried to restrain Himself as far as possible before Vallabhācārya, but although He tried to keep calm, His ecstatic love could not be checked.

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya tried to check Himself before Vallabhācārya, but it was not possible.

Caitanya Caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā 19.83

prabhura dhairyya-dhāraṇa; parapāre avataraṇa:—

deśa-pātra dekhi’ mahāprabhu dhairya ha-ila
āḍāilera ghāṭe naukā āsi’ uttarila

Translation: Seeing the circumstances, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu finally became calm so that the boat was able to reach the shore of Āḍāila and land there.

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya was finally able to calm Himself down, although He was very close and dancing on the boat. He finally restrained Himself and the boat was able to reach the shore and dock.

Caitanya Caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā 19.84

vallabha-karttṛka snānānte prabhuke svagṛhe ānayana:—

bhaye bhaṭṭa saṅge rahe, madhyāhna karāñā
nija-gṛhe ānilā prabhure saṅgete lañā

Translation: Fearing for the Lord’s welfare, Vallabha Bhaṭṭācārya stayed in His association. After arranging for His bath, the Bhaṭṭācārya took the Lord to his own house.

Caitanya Caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā 19.85

vallabhera svahaste prabhura pada-dhauti o savaṁśe pādodaka-sammāna:—

ānandita hañā bhaṭṭa dila divyāsana
āpane karila prabhura pāda-prakṣālana

Translation: When Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu arrived at his home, Vallabha Bhaṭṭācārya, being greatly pleased, offered the Lord a nice sitting place and personally washed His feet.

Jayapatākā Swami: He took the water and bathed Lord Caitanya’s lotus feet and gave the water on the heads of his family members.

Caitanya Caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā 19.86

prabhuke navavastra dāna:—

savaṁśe sei jala mastake dharila
nūtana kaupīna-bahirvāsa parāila

Translation: Vallabha Bhaṭṭācārya and his whole family then sprinkled that water over their heads. They then offered the Lord new underwear and outer garments.

Jayapatākā Swami: Sri Vallabha Bhaṭṭācārya was very respectful to Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu, He offered Him dry cloth.

Caitanya Caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā 19.87

prabhuke pūjā o balabhadra-dvārā annapāka:—

gandha-puṣpa-dhūpa-dīpe mahā-pūjā kaila
bhaṭṭācārye mānya kari’ pāka karāila

Translation: Vallabhācārya worshiped the Lord with great pomp, offering scents, incense, flowers and lamps, and with great respect he induced Balabhadra Bhaṭṭācārya [the Lord’s cook] to cook.

Jayapatākā Swami: This shows the respect offered to Lord Caitanya by Śrī Vallabha Bhaṭṭācārya.

Caitanya Caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā 19.88

prabhura o bhrātṛdvayera vallabha-gṛhe bhojana sampādana:—

bhikṣā karāila prabhure sasneha yatane
rūpa-gosāñi dui-bhāiye karāila bhojane

Translation: Thus Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu was offered lunch with great care and affection. The brothers Rūpa Gosvāmī and Śrī Vallabha were also offered food.

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrī Vallabha Bhaṭṭācārya personally fed Lord Caitanya and His associates and this shows the proper way of receiving a guest.

Caitanya Caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā 19.89

śrī-rūpa o kṛṣṇadāsera prabhura avaśeṣa-prāpti:—

bhaṭṭācārya śrī-rūpe deoyāila ‘avaśeṣa’
tabe sei prasāda kṛṣṇadāsa pāila śeṣa

Translation: Vallabha Bhaṭṭācārya first offered the remnants of the Lord’s food to Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī, and then to Kṛṣṇadāsa.

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya’s remnants of mahā-prasāda was offered to Rūpa Gosvāmī and Kṛṣṇa dāsa.

Caitanya Caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā 19.90

vallabha-karttṛka prabhura pāda-sambāhana:—

mukha-vāsa diyā prabhure karāila śayana
āpane bhaṭṭa karena prabhura pāda-samvāhana

Translation: The Lord was then given spices to purify His mouth. Afterwards He was made to rest, and Vallabha Bhaṭṭācārya personally massaged His legs.

Caitanya Caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā 19.91

bhojana samāpana kariyā vallabhera punarāgamana:—

prabhu pāṭhāila tāṅre karite bhojane
bhojana kari’ āilā teṅho prabhura caraṇe

Translation: While Vallabha Bhaṭṭācārya was massaging Him, the Lord asked him to go take prasādam. After taking prasādam, he returned to the lotus feet of the Lord.

Jayapatākā Swami: So Śrī Vallabha Bhaṭṭācārya after taking prasāda came back to massage the lotus feet of the Lord. He got the special mercy of Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu.
