Jayapatākā Swami: I am very happy that I have been able to visit parts of east and west Medinipur and Jhargram. Lord Caitanya many times visited Medinipur district and Remuṇā. This way many ācāryas like Vāsu Ghoṣa, Śyamānanda Paṇḍita, etc. have preached in Medinipur. The goal of our lives is to serve the Lord. By doing that service we could achieve the supreme bliss. If we live in this material world sometimes there is happiness, sometimes suffering. This should not be our goal of life. Our goal in life is to serve Lord Kṛṣṇa. Serving Kṛṣṇa, we get unlimited happiness. Like in the Adhivāsa kīrtana, we sing ānander sīmā nāi, ānander sīmā nāi, nirānanda dūre jāy, nirānanda dūre jāy. When we serve Kṛṣṇa, the happiness we experience has no limits. Unlimited happiness. Supreme happiness. And we hope that all the Medinipur devotees and Jhargram devotees will experience this unlimited happiness. That is why ordinary people generally don’t understand these things. They think that sense gratification is the goal of life. That is why they commit sins and in the future; they suffer a lot because of that. Those who have devotion for Kṛṣṇa, they experience the supreme happiness. That happiness has no limit. I hope that all you devotees this way will experience happiness, that has no limit. Even though this way we achieve kṛṣṇa-prema, what is there is devotion to Kṛṣṇa can never we compared to anything else. Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī said that in the two words ‘kṛṣ’ṇa’, the happiness that is there in them, there is no limit to that. That is why we want that everyone should chant the name of Kṛṣṇa and dance.

Lord Caitanya gave the instructions, bolo-kṛṣṇa, bhaja-kṛṣṇa, karo-kṛṣṇa-sīkṣā. This is the reason why the Nāmahaṭṭa was established. Whoever serves Kṛṣṇa, chants the name of Kṛṣṇa, study the teachings of Kṛṣṇa, this is non-different from Kṛṣṇa. This way we can perfect our human life. Lord Caitanya in the forest of Jhārikhaṇḍa, He made all the birds and beasts chant the holy name. If we achieve kṛṣṇa-prema this way, that would be Lord Caitanya’s special mercy. I see in many places that the Nāmahaṭṭa devotees have congregated. I hope that all of you will be active and healthy.

Now the pandemic is on. Because people are eating animals, therefore through this, humans have got the disease. The month of Kārtika, or Dāmodara, at least in this month, it is recommended to eat vegetarian food. You should tell all your friends and contacts that in the month of Dāmodara they should eat vegetarian food only. Eat kṛṣṇa-prasāda. Kṛṣṇa does not eat meat, or other non-veg. Now this way if you chant the name of Kṛṣṇa, you can get the association of Kṛṣṇa. This way, we want that if everyone gets the association of Kṛṣṇa, they can become very happy. Parama Dayāl Prabhu has made a lot of effort and preached, which has benefited many.

This human life is very rare, but we just waste it. We abuse it. Having got this rare human life, we should take this opportunity to chant the holy name and serve Lord Kṛṣṇa. That way, our life will be perfected. Now in this process of bhakti-yoga we chant the names of Kṛṣṇa for about two hours or so. After that we have kṛṣṇa-prasāda and every week there is a Nāmahaṭṭa where the devotees get together and have a program. Now I hope that this way, we are able to go from village to village singing kīrtana and spreading the holy name. Now during this pandemic, we may not be able to get together. But now we get the association virtually by internet on Zoom or something. This is very convenient for me. I visit different homes that way. But normally, it would not have been possible to visit so many homes. But now because of Zoom, this is possible. Seeing how you are all serving Kṛṣṇa, makes me very happy. Husband and wife, and children how together they are absorbed and serve the Lord unitedly, makes me feel very happy. I hope that all will chant the names of Kṛṣṇa and perfect your lives. Gṛhe thāko vane thāko sadā hari bole ḍāko. Hare Kṛṣṇa!
