Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 7.95

sa murāri-gupta-nilayaṁ saha tair
upagatya bhūri-karuṇaḥ prababhau
punar apy agād dvija-geham atho
rajanīṁ ca tatra karuṇo’gamayat

Translation: The merciful Lord then went to Murāri Gupta’s house with the devotees. He then went to a brāhmaṇa’s house and spent the night there.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 2.12.1

tato vāṭyāṁ murāres te jhaṭity āgatya seśvarāḥ
upaviśya kṣaṇaṁ sthitvā vijayasyāśramaṁ yayuḥ

Translation: Then all the bhaktas together with the Lords Gaura, Nityānanda and Advaita hastily assembled in the home of Murāri Gupta. After sitting down there and resting a short time, they departed for the āśrama of Vijaya.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 2.12.2

uṣitvā rajanīṁ tatra prabhāte bhagavān paraḥ
jagāmottarakaṁ kūlaṁ sa jāhnavyā bhramad drutam

Translation: After resting there the night, the Supreme Lord got up at dawn and went to the northern bank of the Jāhnavī and wandered about freely.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, Lord Gaurāṅga stayed at the house of Vijaya, with His associates, and there in the morning He went and took His bath, in the Jāhnavī or the Ganges. So basically, He is telling about His activities of that day.

Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 7.96

bhagavān prabhāta-samaye’nya-dine
dyunadīṁ pratīrya saha tair agamat
taṭam uttaraṁ vikalitena hṛdā
kṣaṇam eva viśramaṇam ātanuta

Translation: On another day in the early morning, the Lord crossed the Gaṅgā with the devotees and came to the northern bank. He rested there for a moment, with his heart agitated.

Jayapatākā Swami: Since the Ganges curves, basically there is eastern and western banks, but sometimes the Ganges curves in such a way that, the western bank becomes the northern bank, and the eastern bank becomes the southern bank. So somehow the Lord crossed the river, and went to the Ganges at the point where the western bank became northern.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 2.12.3

brāhmaṇāḥ sādhavaḥ śāntā vinayena dvijottamāḥ
ūcuḥ prasīda bhagavan āgaccha sva-gṛhaṁ punaḥ

Translation: The saintly and peaceful twice-born brāhmaṇas humbly addressed Him, saying, "Be pleased, O Lord. Come to Your home."

Jayapatākā Swami: The brāhmaṇas, they would say, that their home was the Lord’s home. So, like you tell the guru or an elevated person, that my house is your house. By saying come to your home, they are inviting him to come to Your home, what they are saying is actually His home.

Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 7.97

atha te bhayena mahatā vinayaiḥ
parisāntvanaṁ kila vidhāya muhuḥ
prabhum ālayaṁ samanayan muditā
bhajatāṁ hi bhāva-vaśa eṣa khalu

Translation: In great fear the devotees constantly tried to calm him in a gentle way. Joyfully they brought him to a house. He was under the control of the mood of the devotees.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 2.12.4

tac chrutvā vinayaṁ teṣāṁ karuṇārdro nyavartata
sva-bhakta-hṛdayānandaḥ śrīmān viśvambharaḥ prabhuḥ

Translation: When He heard their mood of humility, the resplendent Viśvambhara Prabhu, who brings delight to the hearts of His devotees, and whose heart melts with compassion for all beings, returned home.

Jayapatākā Swami: I don’t see the ‘returned home’ mentioned in the verse. But following the mood of the devotees, He went with them. The Sanskrit experts can check it.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 2.12.5

tatas te hṛṣṭa-manasas tyakta-śokā mudānvitāḥ
ājagmur hariṇā sarve śrīvāsasyālayaṁ punaḥ

Translation: Then with joyous hearts the bhaktas abandoned lamentation and returned happily with Gaura Hari to the abode of Śrīvāsa.

Jayapatākā Swami: Here it says they went to the house of Śrīvāsa.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.93

haya re haya āre haya ॥mūrcchā॥
nichani yāire gorārūpera bālāi laiyā
bilāila premadhana jagata bhariyā

śoka chāḍi’ hṛṣṭamane tabe gaurahari
nijajana saṅge gelā śrīvāsera bāḍī

Translation: Refrain: O! O! O! To chase away all calamities, Lord Gaura filled the world with the treasure love. Giving up grief, and accompanied by His own associates, with a happy heart Lord Gaura Hari went to Śrivasa's home.

Jayapatākā Swami: O! O! O! Lord Gaurāṅga with Lord Nityānanda, He went, with the treasure of pure love of Kṛṣṇa, He was filling up the whole universe! Giving up all sadness and with a blissful mood, Lord Gaura Hari went with His associates to the house of Śrivasa.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.94

śrīnivāsa-haridāsa-ādi yata jana
basiyā ṭhākura kāche nirīkhe vadana

Translation: Śrīnivāsa, Haridāsa and other devoteess were seated looking at the face of the Lord.

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrivasa, Haridāsa Ṭhākura, and other devotees were seated looking at the Lord’s lotus face.

Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 7.98 ½

śrīvāsasya gṛhaṁ sametya
sa punaḥ provāca dhīrākṣaraṁ
sarveṣām avaśṛṇvatāṁ hi purataḥ
śrī-gauracandraḥ prabhuḥ

Translation: Gauracandra came to Śrīvāsa’s house again and spoke seriously while all listened.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 2.12.6

provāca bhagavāṁs tatra
sarveṣām eva sannidhau
śṛṇudhvaṁ vacanaṁ mahyaṁ
yūyaṁ kṛṣṇa-rasa-pradāḥ

Translation: In the presence of them all, the Lord said, "O bestowers of Kṛṣṇa-rasa, all of you please hear My words, for my pleasure.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.95

henakāle mahāprabhu sabhā-sannidhāne
kahaye antarakathā śune sarvajane

Translation: At that time Lord Mahāprabhu spoke to everyone there, his personal words: Everyone heared.

Jayapatākā Swami: At that time Lord Gaurāṅga Mahāprabhu spoke to the assembled devotees there. He spoke His confidential words, and all the devotees listened.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.96

dhana, jana, yaubana—sakala akāraṇa
nā bhajinu satyavastu kṛṣṇera caraṇa

Translation: Wealth, followers and youth are all worthless for a person who does not worship Lord Kṛṣṇa's eternal feet.

Jayapatākā Swami: Wealth, followers and youth are of no use, are worthless, if a person does not worship the lotus feet of Lord Kṛṣṇa.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.97

nirantara dagadhe saṁsāre mora hiyā
nā karilum kṛṣṇakarma hena deha pāñā

Translation: Constantly My heart is scorched by flames of suffering in this world of birth and death. I have not served Lord Kṛṣṇa, although I have attained a valuable body like this one.

Jayapatākā Swami: Constantly My heart is scorched by flames, suffering in this world of birth and death. I have not served Lord Kṛṣṇa, although I have received this human form of life.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.98

saṁsāre durlabha ei mānuṣa-śarīra
kṛṣṇa bhajibāre ki bā puruṣa nārīra

Translation: In this world of birth and death a human body is very rare and difficult to attain. It does not matter if one is a man or a woman to worship Lord Kṛṣṇa.

Jayapatākā Swami: In this universe of birth and death, it is very rare to achieve the body of a human being. And it does not matter whether one is a man or a woman. It is important to do devotion for Lord Kṛṣṇa.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.99

kṛṣṇa nā bhajile ei michā saba deha
pati, suta, pitā, mātā michā saba geha

Translation: If one does not worship Lord Kṛṣna, then one wastes his valuable human body. Then, husband, son, father, mother and house are all vain.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, if one does not worship Lord Kṛṣṇa then this human form of life is wasted. Then being husband, son, father, mother and house are all in vain.

Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 7.98 ½

tyaktvāhaṁ jananīṁ vrajāmi
kila cet kutrāpi tasmāj janaḥ
sarvo’yaṁ kṛtavān niruddham
asakau nūnaṁ vadiṣyaty adaḥ

Translation: “If I give up my mother and go somewhere, all people will say that I have done something contrary to dharma.”

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 2.12.7

mātaraṁ samparityajya gate mayi dig-antaram
sarve māṁ saṁvadiṣyanti viruddhaṁ kṛtavān asau

Translation: "If I abandon My mother and depart for another country, everyone will criticize that I have done wrong behaviour."

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.100

māyere chāḍiyā āmi yāba digantara
kahila sabhāre ei marama-uttara

Translation: If, I leave mother and I will go far away, then the Lord told everyone this secret response of the people:

Jayapatākā Swami: If I leave My mother and go to some far place, then the Lord told the assembly of devotees, this secret response of the people.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.101½

saba-loke bole āmi viruddha kariye

Translation: Everyone will say that I am acting against right conduct.

Jayapatākā Swami: All the people will say that I have acted against the proper conduct.

Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 7.99

murāri-gupto’tha jagāda vākyaṁ
śrutvā tadīyaṁ sudhayaiva siktam
na ko’pi nātheha bhavatsu tat tad
vadiṣyati premada-pāda-padmaḥ

Translation: Murāri Gupta, hearing those words drenched in nectar, said, “No one will say this about you, since your lotus feet give prema.”

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 2.12.8

murāriḥ prāha taṁ śrutvā maivaṁ nātha vadiṣyati
kaścij jano na śaknoti jīvo vaktuṁ sanātanam

Translation: Hearing the Lord speak thus, Murāri Gupta declared, "He Nātha! No living being could speak in that way of their eternal Lord."

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.101½

murāri kahaye-ihā śunite mariy

Translation: Murāri Gupta said, “I, hearing this, will die.”

Jayapatākā Swami: Murāri Gupta said, “I, hearing this, will die.”

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.102

keha nā bolaye ihā śuna mahāprabhu
āmarā ta kāro mukhe nāhi śuni kabhu

Translation: No one will speak this, hear this Mahāprabhu. We have never heard it from any mouth at any time."

Jayapatākā Swami: My dear Gaurāṅga Mahāprabhu, no one will speak in this way. We have never heard from anyone’s mouth, at any time, such words.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 2.12.9

tasya tad vacanaṁ śrutvā bhagavāṁs taṁ murārikam
āliṅgya vara-bāhubhyāṁ harṣitaḥ prāviśad gṛham

Translation: When the Lord heard those words, He, being pleased embraced this Murāri with His two large beautiful arms and entered the house.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.103

e bola śuniñā sei gaura bhagavān
murāri dhariyā dila āliṅgana-dāna

Translation: Hearing these words, Lord Gaura, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, holding Murāri, He gave him the gift of an embrace.

Jayapatākā Swami: Hearing these words of Murāri Gupta, Gaurāṅga Bhagavān, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, held Murāri and gave him the gift of an embrace.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.104

murāri kariyā kole sāmbhāilā ghare
prabhu-āliṅgane vaidya āpanā pāśare

Translation: After carefully holding Murāri on the lap, the Lord went home. Being embraced by the Lord, the physician Murāri was overcome by ecstasy and He forgot himself.

Jayapatākā Swami: After carefully holding Murāri Gupta, the Lord went home. Receiving the embrace of the Lord, the physician Murāri was overcome by ecstasy and forgot himself.

Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 7.100

śrutvetthaṁ vacanam asau kṛpā-samudraḥ
saṁhṛṣṭaḥ parama-sukhas tam āliliṅga
so’py evaṁ pulaka-ghaṭā-vibhinna-dehaḥ
ślokaikaṁ mudita-manāḥ papāṭha dainyāt

Translation: The ocean of mercy, hearing these words, became joyful and in great happiness embraced him. Murāri’s hairs stood on end and with a joyful mind he recited one verse in humility.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 2.12.10

tataḥ pramudito vaidyaḥ pulakāvalim udvahan
papāṭha ślokam ekaṁ ca prācīnaṁ yac chṛṇuṣva tat

Translation: Because of his great gladness, that physician's body generated rows of hairs standing erect and he then recited one ancient verse in the Lord's presence, which you hear.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.105

pulakita saba aṅga āpādamastaka
paḍhilā ta prācīna āchila eka śloka

Translation: From head to foot the hairs of his body stood erect. He quoted this ancient verse (Śrimad-Bhāgavatam 10.81.16):

Jayapatākā Swami: All his hairs on his body from his feet to his head, they stood erect. And he read one ancient verse from the Śrimad-Bhāgavatam as follows: SB 10.81.16:

Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Ādi-līlā, 17.77

murārike praśaṁsā

murārike kahe prabhu, kṛṣṇa baśa kailā
śuniyā murāri śloka kahite lāgilā

Translation: Lord Caitanya then praised Murāri Gupta, saying, “You have satisfied Lord Kṛṣṇa.” Hearing this, Murāri Gupta quoted a verse from Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.106

kvāhaṁ daridraḥ pāpīyān
kva kṛṣṇaḥ śrī-niketanaḥ
brahma-bandhur iti smāhaṁ
bāhubhyāṁ parirambhitaḥ

Translation: “Since I am but a poor, sinful brahma-bandhu, not brahminically qualified although born in a brāhmaṇa family, and You, Lord Kṛṣṇa, are the shelter of the goddess of fortune, it is simply wonderful, my dear Lord Kṛṣṇa, that You have embraced me with Your arms.”

Purport: This is a verse from Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (10.81.16) spoken by Sudāmā Vipra in the presence of Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa. This and the previous verse quoted from Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam clearly indicate that although Kṛṣṇa is so great that it is not possible for anyone to satisfy Him, He exhibits His greatness by being personally satisfied even with one who is unqualified from so many angles of vision. Sudāmā Vipra was born in a family of brāhmaṇas, and he was a learned scholar and a class friend of Kṛṣṇa’s, yet he considered himself unfit to be strictly called a brāhmaṇa. He called himself a brahma-bandhu, meaning “one born in a brāhmaṇa family but not brahminically qualified.” Because of His great respect for brāhmaṇas, however, Kṛṣṇa embraced Sudāmā Vipra, although he was not a regular brāhmaṇa but a brahma-bandhu, or friend of a brāhmaṇa family. Murāri Gupta could not be called even a brahma-bandhu because he was born of a vaidya family and according to the social structure was therefore considered a śūdra. But Kṛṣṇa bestowed special mercy upon Murāri Gupta because he was a beloved devotee of the Lord, as stated by Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. The purport of Śrī Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura’s elaborate discussion of this subject is that no qualification in this material world can satisfy the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa, yet everything becomes successful simply through development of devotional service to the Lord.

The members of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness cannot even call themselves brahma-bandhus. Therefore, our only means for satisfying Kṛṣṇa is to pursue the injunctions of Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, who says:

yāre dekha, tāre kaha ‘kṛṣṇa’-upadeśa
āmāra ājṣāya guru haṣā tāra’ ei deśa

“Whomever you meet, instruct him on the teachings of Kṛṣṇa. In this way, on My order, become a spiritual master and deliver the people of this country.” (Cc. Madhya 7.128) Simply trying to follow the orders of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, we speak to the people of the world about Bhagavad-gītā As It Is. This will make us qualified to satisfy the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, although the Varṇāśrama-dharma was created by Lord Kṛṣṇa, as is stated in the Bhagavad-gītā, but actually to satisfy Kṛṣṇa, we need devotional service. Being a high class brāhmaṇa would not in itself satisfy Kṛṣṇa, unless a person engages in devotional service, he cannot satisfy Kṛṣṇa. And even if one is born in a lowly family, if they are Yavana or Mleccha, if they are engaged in devotional service and they are pleasing to Kṛṣṇa and they are respected by everyone, so we can see how great devotional service is. Everybody in the world should be practicing devotional service. That is what is truly important.

       Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 7.102

śrutvā sa ittham uditaṁ bhagavāṁs tadaiva
svaiśvaryam uttamam upetya rarāja nāthaḥ
ramyāsanopari pariṣṭhita udbhaṭena
tejaś cayena dinanātha-sahasra-tulyaḥ

Translation: Hearing these words, the Lord manifested great power and shone like a thousand suns as he sat on an attractive seat while radiating great effulgence.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 2.12.12

tacchrutvāścaryamakhilaṁ bhāvam sandarśayan prabhuḥ
rarāja sahasā devaḥ sahasrārciḥ-sama-prabhaḥ

Translation: Hearing that śloka, Prabhu displayed all wonderful sublime bhāva, and suddenly radiated effulgence like the thousand-rayed sun.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.107

e bola śuniñā se prakāśe ṭhākurāla
koṭi ravi-kiraṇa varaṇa ujiyāra

Translation: Hearing these words, Lord Gaura manifested a form effulgent like ten million suns rays

Jayapatākā Swami: Hearing these words, Lord Gaurāṅga manifested a form, effulgent like ten million suns!

 Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 7.103

idaṁ śarīraṁ paramaṁ manojṣaṁ
sac-cid-ghanānanda-mayaṁ mamaiva
jānīta yūyaṁ nahi kiṣcid anyad
vināsti bhūmau sa itīdam ūce

Translation: He said, “You know that my body is most attractive, composed of eternity, knowledge and bliss. There is nothing other than this on earth.”

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 2.12.13

upaviśyāsane devaḥ provāca madhurākṣaram
idaṁ dehaṁ vijānīhi sac-cid-ghanam anuttamam

Translation: Seating Himself on an āsana, the Lord spoke sweetly, "You should know that this body of Mine composed of condensed eternity and cognizance to be Supreme."

Jayapatākā Swami: The Supreme Personality of Godhead, His form is sat, cit and ānanda – eternal, conscious and blissful. This is what everybody is seeking. So, Lord Gaurāṅga sat on an āsana, and spoke these confidential words, and manifested His effulgent form.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.108

āsane-basiyā kahe vacana madhura
ei āmi cidānanda–nā bhāviha dura

Translation: Sitting on an āsana, Lord Gaura said sweet words: I am চিদানন্দ. Don't think I am ever far from you."

Jayapatākā Swami: So, Lord Gaurāṅga sat on the seat and He said these sweet words. “I am cidānanda, I am conscious bliss, don’t think I am ever far from You.”

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.109

e bola śuniñā sabhe ānanda vihabala
pulake bharila sabhe saba kalevara

Translation: Hearing these words, everyone was overcome with bliss. Their bodies were filled with hairs standing erect.

Jayapatākā Swami: Hearing these words, everyone present was overcome with bliss. The hairs on their bodies were standing on end.

Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 7.104

hṛṣṭās tat tan nātha-vākyaṁ niśamya
prodyad-romāṣcāṣcitāṅgāḥ samantāt
śrīvāsādyā netra-vāri-pravāhaiḥ
samyak snātās tatra tatraivam āsan

Translation: Hearing the Lord’s words, the devotees headed by Śrīvāsa became joyful.  Their hairs stood on end completely. They were bathed in rivers of tears.  They simply stood there.

Jayapatākā Swami: The confidential associates of the Lord headed by Śrīvāsa, they heard these transcendental words of the Lord, and they became completely filled with ecstatic love. Their hairs stood on end and they were stunned, they just simply stood there.

 Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 7.105

śrīvāso’sau pūrvavad gāṅga-toyaiḥ
svaccha-svacchaiḥ snāpayāmāsa bhūyaḥ
śrī-gaurāṅgaṁ tat-padaikāvalambaḥ
premāmbhobhir dhauta-sarvāṅga-ramyam

Translation: Śrīvāsa, who has taken shelter of his lotus feet, after washing all Gaurāṅga’s limbs with his tears of love, bathed him again as before with clear Gaṅgā water.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, the relationship between Lord Gaurāṅga and Śrīvāsa, is one of complete love. And in Their loving ecstasy, Śrīvāsa’s tears had bathed the Lord. But afterwards, Śrīvāsa took Ganges water and bathed the Lord again. So, each of these verses are describing the same pastime. And there is little difference, there are more details gotten from different verses. But basically, the verses are describing the same pastime.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 2.12.14-15

tatas te muditāḥ sarve babhūvuḥ pulakāṣcitāḥ
śrīvāsa-paṇḍitas tatra snāpayām āsa taṁ prabhum
svar-nadī-svaccha-salilaiḥ pūjāṁ cakre yathā-vidhi
nityānando mahā-tejāś chatraṁ śirasy adhārayat

Translation: Hearing that, all the devotees became immensely blissful and all of their bodies became covered with pulakas. At that time, Śrīvasa bathed Prabhu, with the crystalline waters of Gaṅgā and worshipped Him according to the proper Vedic principles. Mighty Nityānanda held an umbrella above Gaura's head.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, this verse, describes the pastime a little more completely. All the devotees were in ecstatic love of ecstasy, and their hairs were all standing on end. Śrīvasa was bathing the Lord with crystalline waters of the Ganges. That means, they kept the Ganges water in some vessel. So, they were bathing Him according to the Vedic principles, and worshipping Him, according to the Vedic principles. Nityānanda Prabhu was holding an umbrella above Lord Gaurāṅga’s head.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.110

śrīvāsapaṇḍita sei uttama-ācāra
gaṅgājale abhiṣeka karaye tāhāra

Translation: Śrivasa Panḍita, of best conduct performed an abhiṣeka ceremony, bathing Lord Gaura with Gaṅga water.

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrivasa Panḍita conducted a ceremony following the Vedic principles completely, where He gave abhiṣeka of pure Ganges water to Lord Gaurāṅga.

Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 7.106

yāvat kumbhair gauracandraṅga-yaṣṭau
gaṅgā-toyair bhūsuro’yaṁ siṣeca
tāvat svāṅge netra-pāthoruhābhyāṁ
premnā niryat-toyam udgīrṇavān saḥ

Translation: Śrīvāsa bathed the limbs of Gaurāṅga with pots of Gaṅgā water while releasing water from his lotus eyes onto his limbs because of his prema.

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrīvāsa was performing the bathing ceremony or abhiṣeka of Lord Gaurāṅga by pouring pots of Ganges water. While he was doing this, he felt such intense love of Lord Caitanya, that tears from his eyes fell into the water, that was used to bathe Lord Caitanya, Lord Gaurāṅga.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 2.12.16

gadādharaś ca tāmbūlaṁ dadāti śrī-mukhopari
kecit sevante taṁ devaṁ cāmara-vyajanādibhiḥ

Translation: Gadādhara dropped betel into Gaura's divine mouth while some bhaktas served the divine Lord with various articles such as peacock fans and cāmara whisks.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.111

abhiṣeka kari’ pūjā kari yathāvidhi
tāhāra pūjāya tuṣṭa hailā guṇanidhi

Translation: Śrīvāsa performed abhiṣeka and worshiped Lord Gaura as per the proper rituals. Lord Gaura, who is a treasure-house of all virtues, was pleased by His worship.

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura performed the abhiṣeka, bathing ceremony and worshiped the Lord according to all the Vedic principles of worship. His worship satisfied Lord Gaurāṅga, who is the treasure-house of all, ocean of all good qualities.

Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 7.107

evaṁ bhūyaḥ kautukaṁ te vilokya
premodbhrāntāḥ kīrtanaṁ nartanaṁ ca
uccair uccaiś cakrur unmatta-cittāḥ
śrī-gaurāṅga-prema-mātrāvalambāḥ

Translation: Thus seeing the festival again, the devotees, madly agitated with prema, whose only shelter is Gaurāṅga’s prema, loudly performed kīrtana and danced with crazed hearts.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, while Śrīvāsa was bathing and worshipping Lord Gaurāṅga, all the devotees present were filled with ecstatic love of Lord Gaurāṅga and they loudly performed kīrtana and danced with completely maddened hearts.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 2.12.17

saṅkīrtana-rase magnā hariṁ gāyanti sarvataḥ
evaṁ kautukam āpannā vismitā nanṛtur jaguḥ

Translation: Immersed in saṅkīrtana-rasa, they sang the names of Hari in all directions as they danced and sang, filled with wonder and eagerness.

Jayapatākā Swami: Chanting the names of Kṛṣṇa congregationally, has special bliss. When we sing the names of Hari and Hare Kṛṣṇa, a person forgets himself. And dances like a mad man, and filled with wonder and eagerness. When Śrīla Prabhupāda arrived in 1969 in Boston, devotees had assembled from all over the East Coast, I came down from Toronto. There were devotees from New York, from Montreal, all over the East Coast of USA and Canada. And when they saw Śrīla Prabhupāda lift his hand above the barrier, they started dancing so ecstatically. The press and media were amazed when they saw one devotee, he hit his head with his karatālas and he was bleeding, but he was unaware of that! He was dancing so ecstatically, and they took a photo and said, it is out of the world! Ha! Ha!

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa, 7.112

ānande sakala loka hariguṇa gāya
bhakata-vadana heri’ nāce gaurārāya

Translation: Blissfully all the people sang Lord Hari's qualities. Glancing at the devotees' faces, Lord Gaura Rāya danced.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, all the devotees present, in great bliss, began to sing the glories of Hari! Seeing the blissful faces of the devotees, Gaurāṅga Mahāprabhu, He began to dance!

So, this maybe an indication that, Lord Caitanya was preoccupied with the anxiety that if He takes sannyāsa and leaves His mother, people may criticize, but Murāri Gupta said no. Since Lord Caitanya is taking up the renounced order, would be to give mercy to the whole world. So therefore, people would not judge Him by their ordinary considerations. Anyway, we can see how Lord Caitanya’s pastimes are so blissful, that all the devotees were chanting and dancing in kīrtana, very blissful, very ecstatic, and Lord Caitanya, He joined them, and danced with them. Haribol! Gaurāṅga! Gaurāṅga!
