HG Sankarshan Nitai das prabhu spoke on behalf of Guru maharaj:

Srila Prabhupad instructed that preaching means book distribution. Now leaders of Iskcon means only book distribution. So Srila Prabhupad instructed guru maharaj to distribute ten thousand big books every month. To fulfill the desire of Srila Prabhupad, at least for one month every year, guru maharaj could fulfill the instruction of Srila Prabhupad. And for that guru maharaj needs the help of all of you. So for the past twelve years Iskcon Vyasa Puja Committee, Mayapur, has been organizing the sponsorship of Bhagavad Gita in the name of guru maharaj on the occasion of his Vyasa puja. So last year 18,000 Bhagavad Gitas were sponsored. So Srila Prabhupad always liked to double it. So this year in Chennai at least 20 thousand Bhagavad Gitas should be sponsored. We don’t mind 36,000 but at least 20,000. Every year Iskcon Mayapur does it but this year as it is happening in Chennai, there will be a joint venture effort by Iskcon Chennai and Iskcon Mayapur. So you don’t have to pay money now if you don’t have or if you do have you can pay now also. You can pledge, all detailed information is there in the booth specifically meant for this purpose. There is a wonderful brochure and also a pledge form/sponsorship form, you can collect this from the booth set up for this book distribution.
