20170828 Rādhāṣṭamī Adhivāsa Talk

20170828 His.Holiness.Jayapataka Swami gave a Radhastami Adhivasa talk in Mayapur.

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ

paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim

yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande

paramānanda-mādhavam

Today is the Adivasa day of Radhasthami. Two weeks ago we observed Janmasthami. 

Srila Prabhupada was staying in Montreal. He said, everyone is trying to get love of Krsna, but Krsna is after the love of Radharani. So, Radharani also was the one who created this Nabadwip Dhama. So, for us it is a very sacred day tomorrow. So, we are observing Radhasthami today by having the Adhivasa. The deities of Radha-Madhava have come out in the front so that you can all offer your service to Sri Radha-Madhava. You can say what you will be doing for Their Lordships. So, we observe the Adhivasa just to get us into the proper consciousness. 

So, we offer auspicious items to the deities, and for us we know that this is the Audarya Dhama. That’s because Lord Krsna is taking the mood of Radharani. Because Radharani is so merciful, this dham is also very merciful. 

We asked Prabhupada why Krsna has us fast till midnight, and Radhrani has us fast only till noon. Srila Prabhupada said, “Because Radharani is very merciful.”
