20231231 SGVA Program: Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura's Tirobhāva Address

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānanda-mādhavam śrī caitanya īśvaram
Harihi oṁ tat sat

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda, he [recording started abruptly] When he was on this planet, what he had desired, what he had instructed, that they are completed is what we have to remember. You heard how he had established 64 Gauḍīya Maṭhas all over India then. And he had asked many of his disciples to go and preach in the Western world. His desire was and he told my Gurudeva to go and preach in the Western world. That is why we are so grateful to Oṁ Viṣṇupāda Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda that he cared and thought of us fallen souls! Caitanyadeva, He incarnated to deliver the fallen souls. And after that Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda, he sent Vaiṣṇavas all over the world to preach. We hope that in the future the disciples’ family of Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda will unite and spread the teachings of Caitanyadeva.

Presently most of our gurus have all disappeared. Some are my disciples, some are grand disciples now. Anyway, the way Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda preached we need to preach in the same way. For the sake of the spiritual family of Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura we have this place Bhaktivinoda Āśrama in No. 1, Ulṭāḍaṅga, Kolkata. A lot of money was spent, and this place has been established very nicely. We hope that all the Gauḍīya Maṭha followers will see that place. From there Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda had preached. I have heard the history that there the Viśva Vaiṣṇava Rājya Sabhā was established there. And in that same place my Gurudeva met with his Gurudeva for the first time. At that time my Gurudeva was a youth and a follower of Gandhiji. But Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda said, you know English, you are an educated youth, you should go to the West and preach all over the world. Our Gurudeva said that we are a under developed country, who will listen to me? But Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda defeated him. This is politics but we are spiritually charged. After that moment my Gurudeva carried these instructions of his Gurudeva in his heart.

Anyway, we have all gathered together to talk and discuss the pastimes of Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda. After a few months, we will be celebrating his 150^th appearance day and we are trying to have a grand program for about three or four days. Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda the way he brought us the teachings of Caitanyadeva, and he had predicted the coming of the golden Age which was mentioned in the Brahma-vaivarta Purāṇa that there will be a ten-thousand-year period of a Golden Age. What was written is all coming to happen. I will not speak more as others also have to speak. Hare Kṛṣṇa!
