Jayapatākā Swami: Today is a very auspicious day not because of being the eve of the New Year, but today is also the disappearance festival of Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda. But today also, I would like to wish you all a happy new year. Of course, for us the New Year is supposed to be Gaura Pūrṇimā. Lord Caitanya, He was doing nocturnal kīrtanas. So this is a good excuse on New Year’s eve we do nocturnal kīrtana! We are very thankful that Vaikuṇṭha Nitāi and the devotees of Gaura Village for organizing this.
I was thinking that actually Lord Kṛṣṇa, He came as a human being but He did not hide it that He was the Supreme Lord. But in Lord Caitanya avatāra, He came as the combined form of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa and you are living here in Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s dhāma, which was created by Rādhārāṇī for the pleasure of Lord Kṛṣṇa. And Kṛṣṇa took the color and heart of Rādhārāṇī and He came as Gaurāṅga! Gaurāṅga! Gaurāṅga! What is amazing is that although He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead He would chant and dance with the devotees. The king of the devas Indra and Vāyudeva, they came down and when they saw Lord Caitanya chanting and crying in ecstasy, they fainted! To see the Supreme Personality of Godhead with His devotees chanting and crying! It was too much for them! When they became conscious, they took the human form and joined in the kīrtana. Sometimes I don’t know maybe people can come down here in the kīrtana from the Devaloka. It is hard to see it. If there is someone you don’t recognize maybe he has come down from the heavenly planets! So anyway, I would like to wish you happy New Year’s-eve and kīrtana. My doctor told me since I have lung problem, coughing, I should not leave the car. But we took a small detour! Hare Kṛṣṇa! Thank you all! I hope you all have a very blissful time chanting the holy name! Hope this would bring in the New Year, the Christābda, in a very auspicious way! Haribol!
Nitāi Gaurāṅga! Nitāi Gaurāṅga!
Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare /
Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare!
