20231214 Addressing Bhāgavata-kathā in Śrī Gaṅgā Mātā Temple

The following is a Ganga Ghat Bhabavat Katha by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on December 14th,2023 in Śrī Dhāma Māyāpur, India.

Jayapatākā Swami: I may not be able to speak much. Anyway, studying the Bhāgavatam is very good. And those who are within one krośa of the Ganges, they get one lakh times the benefit. In the Bhāgavatam, Lord Kṛṣṇa appears in His various avatāras and in the universe, on this earth He performs various pastimes. This place here is Navadvīpa Dhāma. Here Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu had advented. He is the Lord but came as a hidden avatāra, channa-avatāra. This dhāma was created by Rādhārāṇī. And Lord Kṛṣṇa was very satisfied seeing this and He said that this dhāma will be non-different from Vṛndāvana. This way your hearing the Bhāgavatam on the banks of the Ganges in Navadvīpa Dhāma is very special! This way we will be able to stay with the Lord all the time. Generally, the ordinary human beings according to their karma go through cycles of life and death. But if all the time we think of Kṛṣṇa, do kīrtana of His pastimes and understand the Truth about Kṛṣṇa, then Kṛṣṇa says in the fourth chapter that after this life, we can go back to Kṛṣṇaloka.

I am greatly satisfied that all of you are hearing the Bhāgavatam with so much enthusiasm. This way, Kṛṣṇa will be very happy. The International Society for Kṛṣṇa consciousness of ours is that we think of Kṛṣṇa all the time. In the consciousness of Kṛṣṇa. So this way the Bhāgavatam is about Lord Kṛṣṇa. Śukadeva Gosvāmī wrote that the Bhagavad-gītā is spoken by the lotus mouth of Lord Kṛṣṇa and the Bhāgavatam is about Lord Kṛṣṇa. The guru of this bhāgavata-saptāha devotees had taken first initiation from Śrīla Prabhupāda and second initiation from me. So for those who are hearing this Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, I give my best wishes and blessings – Kṛṣṇe matir astu! I could have stayed longer but it has been announced that my evening class will be at 6 pm.
