The following is a Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Book by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on November 22nd, 2018 in Chennai, India.

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānandaṁ mādhavaṁ śrī caitanya iśvaram

So today is Caturdaśī, fourth day of the Bhīṣma-pañcaka. Tomorrow is the last day and after the sun sets, we break our fast. So we hope that all of you have enjoyed the Bhīṣma-pañcaka, by satisfying Kṛṣṇa, you will automatically be satisfied. Yesterday, I thought that cyclone ‘Gaja’ had reached but it was a tropical monsoon storm. So there is no more cyclone. Maybe one is forming but so far we did not see it. Here in Tamil Nadu we are getting rain and they need rain, so they are happy. But today my physiotherapist could not come because of the strong rain. So we had to do our workout ourselves. So now we will continue with the Caitanya Book compilation.

Lord Caitanya went to Gayā, He got initiated by Īśvara Purī and then now He has come back to Navadvīpa and He saw Kṛṣṇa on His way at the Kanāi Nāṭaśālā. So He was feeling great separation from Kṛṣṇa. He told the confidential devotees to meet at Śuklāmbhara Brahmacārī’s house and there he had a temple, it was somewhere near the Ganges. So Lord Caitanya, He told them that He had seen Kṛṣṇa but He lost [Him]. And He asked, grabbed them by the necks and asked “Where is Kṛṣṇa? Where is Kṛṣṇa? Kṛṣṇa kothāy?” And He embraced one of the columns in Śuklāmbhara Brahmacārī’s house. And the column broke down. Lord Caitanya fell down. So like this He was standing up, falling down, crying so intensely that devotees thought the Ganges is flowing here. Lord Caitanya was manifesting the extreme ecstasy of love of Kṛṣṇa known as mahā-bhāva. The devotees seeing Him they also started to cry. He fell down, they fell down. So this went on for 12 hours, early morning to sunset and Lord Caitanya took His leave and went to His house.

So devotees they were speechless. Nimāi Paṇḍita who was the best logician and not interested in devotional service, now He is a maha-bhāgavata. He is displaying the highest ecstasy of love of Kṛṣṇa. So they were amazed, they were spellbound. And they looked at each other but no one could not speak anything. Then they went and told all the other devotees. So we are at that point now when they are telling the other devotees what they experienced.

Caitanya Bhāgavata Madhya Khaṇḍa 1.112

śuniyā apūrva prema sabei vismita
keha bale,—“īśvara vā hailā vidita”

So all the devotees they were amazed to hear about the wonderful expression of pure love of Kṛṣṇa. Someone said, “Maybe Kṛṣṇa has manifested”.

Caitanya Bhāgavata Madhya Khaṇḍa 1.113

keha bale,—“nimāi paṇḍita bhāla haile”
pāṣaṇḍīra muṇḍa chiṇḍibāre pāri hele”

Others said, “If Nimāi Paṇḍita becomes a good devotee then we can cut off the heads of the atheists.”

Caitanya Bhāgavata Madhya Khaṇḍa 1.114-15

sarvathā sandeha nāi, jāniha avaśya
keha bale,—“īśvara purīra saṅga haite

Someone said, “There is no doubt that this is for certain,” and someone said, “by having the association of Īśvara Purī, this has become possible.” Some devotees said, “Everyone will certainly understand the mystery of Kṛṣṇa’s unknown pastimes from this Nimāi Paṇḍita, there is no doubt about it.”

Caitanya Bhāgavata Madhya Khaṇḍa 1.115

keha bale,—“īśvara purīra saṅga haite
kibā dekhilena kṛṣṇa prakāśa gayāte”

Others said, “By having the association with Īśvara Purī at Gayā, He must have seen the manifestation of Kṛṣṇa.”

Caitanya Bhāgavata Madhya Khaṇḍa 1.116

ei-mata ānande sakala bhakta-gaṇa
nānā jane nānā kathā karena kathana

So in this way, the devotees, they discussed with great happiness. Different people said different things and discussed topics about Kṛṣṇa among themselves.

Caitanya Bhāgavata Madhya Khaṇḍa 1.117

prabhura uddeśe vaiṣṇava-gaṇera āśīrvāda:—

sabe meli’ karite lāgilā āśīrvāda
“hauka hauka satya kṛṣṇera prasāda”

All of them jointly gather together and offered blessings “Let be, let be! That He gets all the object of Kṛṣṇa’s mercy. Or He be the object of Kṛṣṇa’s mercy, Let it be! Let it be! He truly gets the mercy of Lord Kṛṣṇa”.

Caitanya Bhāgavata Madhya Khaṇḍa 1.118

vaiṣṇava-gaṇera harṣotsāha-bhare kṛṣṇa kīrtana:—

ānande lāgilā sabe karite kīrtana
keha gāya, keha nāce, karaye krandana

So all the devotees were in great bliss and they began to perform Kṛṣṇa-kīrtana in ecstasy. Somebody chants, sings, somebody dances and some cried.

Caitanya Bhāgavata Madhya Khaṇḍa 1.119

hena mate bhakta-gaṇa āchena hariṣe
ṭhākura āviṣṭa hai’ āchena nija-rase

In this way the assembled devotees, they happily spent their time as the Lord remained absorbed in His own ecstasy.

Caitanya Bhāgavata Madhya Khaṇḍa 1.120

gaṅgādāsa paṇḍita-gṛhe prabhura gamana, yathārīti paraspara byabahāra:—

Caitanya Bhāgavata Madhya Khaṇḍa 1.121

gurura karilā prabhu caraṇa vandana
sambhrame uṭhiyā guru kailā āliṅgana

So the Lord, He offered His obeisances at the lotus feet of His teacher. He immediately arose and with respect He embraced the Lord.

Caitanya Bhāgavata Madhya Khaṇḍa 1.122

guru bale,—“dhanya bāba! tomāra jīvana
pitṛ-kula mātṛ-kula karilā mocana

So His Sanskrit guru or teacher said, “Child, glorious is Your life. My dear, Your father’s and mother’s forefathers, have all been delivered by You”.

Caitanya Bhāgavata Madhya Khaṇḍa 1.123

śiṣyagaṇera prabhu-niṣṭhā-varṇana—

tomāra paḍuyā saba—tomāra avadhi
puṅthi keha nāhi mele, brahmā bale yadi

All of Your students, they only know You as their teacher. They will not open their books even if Lord Brahmā told them to do so.

Caitanya Bhāgavata Madhya Khaṇḍa 1.124

prabhuke madhuravākye bidāya-dāna:—

ekhane āilā tumi sabāra prakāśa
kāli haite paḍāibā āji yāha vāsa”

Now that You have returned, You are illuminating the hearts of everyone, giving them transcendental bliss. From tomorrow You should start teaching, today go to Your home.”

Caitanya Bhāgavata Madhya Khaṇḍa 1.125

śiṣya-veṣṭita hañā prabhura mukundasañjaya-gṛhe āgamana—

guru namaskariyā calilā viśvambhara
catur-dike paḍuyā veṣṭita śaśadhara

So after offering His obeisances to His Sanskrit guru Viśvambhara went to the house of Mukunda Sañjaya. He was surrounded by His students, like the moon amidst the stars.

Caitanya Bhāgavata Madhya Khaṇḍa 1.126

āilena śrī-mukunda-sañjayera ghare

The Lord sat down in the house of Mukunda Sañjaya within the Caṇḍī-maṇḍapa where He would normally give His teachings.

Caitanya Bhāgavata Madhya Khaṇḍa 1.127

sagāeṣṭhī mukundera ānanda o mukunda-putra puruṣottamake prabhura sneha-kṛpā-dāna, strīgaṇera uludhvani—

goṣṭhī-saṅge mukunda-sañjaya puṇyavanta
ye haila ānanda, tāhāra nāhi anta

So accompanied by His relatives, Mukunda Sañjaya who was very pious and his son Puruṣottama, he gave great affection to Lord Caitanya. The women started to produce the ulu-dhvani, the ululation to greet the Lord. So they were experiencing unlimited happiness.

Caitanya Bhāgavata Madhya Khaṇḍa 1.128

puruṣottama-sañjayere prabhu kaila kole
siñcilena aṅga tāna nayanera jale

Caitanya Bhāgavata Madhya Khaṇḍa 1.131

āsiyā vasilā viṣṇu-gṛhera duyāre
prīti kari’ vidāya dilena sabākāre

After arriving at His house, the Lord He sat at the door of His Viṣṇu temple. With great affection He bid farewell to all those who were following Him, His students and others.

Everyone who came to greet the Lord were unable to understand His character.

prabhura abhinava-kriyāmudrā-bāedhe sakalerai asāmarthya—
