Jayapatākā Swami: Jaya Śrī Śrī Dhanvantari kī! Jaya!
So I am very fortunate. I finished my 14 days of intensive treatment and my seven days of my physio-therapy treatment. Now they are continuing treatment goes for about 12th of May or so, is to give me strength. So exactly what the treatment is will tell you as it happens. But we understand that they are giving hot rice and ghee and then they are giving an oil enema (inaudible) and then oil after that, only Kṛṣṇa knows. So today we are going to read from… what chapter?
Vrajeśvara Gaura dāsa: Bhagavad-gītā 9.13.
Jayapatākā Swami: Okay, I don’t know what the verse is, but let’s hear from him.
Vrajeśvara Gaura dāsa (reading):
mahātmānas tu māṁ pārtha
daivīṁ prakṛtim āśritāḥ
bhajanty ananya-manaso
jñātvā bhūtādim avyayam
(Translation and purport by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda)
Translation: O son of Pṛthā, those who are not deluded, the great souls, are under the protection of the divine nature. They are fully engaged in devotional service because they know Me as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, original and inexhaustible.
Purport: In this verse the description of the mahātmā is clearly given. The first sign of the mahātmā is that he is already situated in the divine nature. He is not under the control of material nature. And how is this effected? That is explained in the Seventh Chapter: one who surrenders unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Śrī Kṛṣṇa, at once becomes freed from the control of material nature. That is the qualification. One can become free from the control of material nature as soon as he surrenders his soul to the Supreme Personality of Godhead. That is the preliminary formula. Being marginal potency, as soon as the living entity is freed from the control of material nature, he is put under the guidance of the spiritual nature. The guidance of the spiritual nature is called daivī prakṛti, divine nature. So when one is promoted in that way—by surrendering to the Supreme Personality of Godhead—one attains to the stage of great soul, mahātmā.
The mahātmā does not divert his attention to anything outside Kṛṣṇa, because he knows perfectly well that Kṛṣṇa is the original Supreme Person, the cause of all causes. There is no doubt about it. Such a mahātmā, or great soul, develops through association with other mahātmās, pure devotees. Pure devotees are not even attracted by Kṛṣṇa's other features, such as the four-armed Mahā-Viṣṇu. They are simply attracted by the two-armed form of Kṛṣṇa. They are not attracted to other features of Kṛṣṇa, nor are they concerned with any form of a demigod or of a human being. They meditate only upon Kṛṣṇa in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. They are always engaged in the unswerving service of the Lord in Kṛṣṇa consciousness.
* * *
Jayapatākā Swami: Hari oṁ tat sat. So this verse tells us, how we can be considered a mahātmā by surrendering unto Kṛṣṇa, and serving devotion to Kṛṣṇa. Like sometimes you see people’s pūjā-room and they got all varieties of different pictures of different devas and you ask them, “Who is Supreme?” They don’t know. They say, “Well, it’s all one, and I don’t know, so I got everybodies picture.”
Recently, at the Bhaktivedanta Hospital, there was one, where he had all variety of books, and he had some book like self aware by the Brahma-kumārīs. So the Spiritual Care representative asked, “So you are interested in spiritual life, and so you got all these different books?” He said, “Oh! Yes, I got one confusion that, every society says that their founder is God. You see? So Sai Bābā, they say he is God. They say that the founder of the Brahma-kumārīs, Prajapati, he is also God. So I get confused. Who is really God?” “You see, we heard that problem too. Founder of the Hare Kṛṣṇa movement is Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda, he never said, he was God. He always said, he was the servant of the servant of the Lord. And... But, she quoted Bhagavad-gītā that there Kṛṣṇa, He says that, ‘He is God’. So we found that in Bhagavad-gītā is more… you see, it’s a book, which is authoritative. She said that it is authorized by different sampradāyas. And in the Bhagavad-gītā, there Kṛṣṇa clearly says, [Bg. 10.8] ahaṁ sarvasya prabhavo – everything is coming from Me and I am the source of everything, that there is nothing higher than Me. So we accept Kṛṣṇa as the Supreme Peronality of Godhead.” He was so interested, he bought six of Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books. And then he took these books and he became a devotee. And he started to chant on japa. Then he got cured, and then he was released from the hospital. So he went to work, to his home in Delhi, and there he connected with our devotees and chanting:
Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/
Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare
Haribol!
Devotees outside can hear me?
Devotees: Yes!
Jayapatākā Swami: If they are able to hear me, they should chant. Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare. Wow! Look at that. Today, at the end of our 14 day of intensive treatment, we offered a pūjā to Dhanvatari, incarnation of Viṣṇu and all these therapists, they did some pūjā to the massage table, we saw a few days ago. And he was really part of… what you call it, tender coconut. In Bengali we call it as ḍāb. Here they call tender coconut. Tender coconut water poured over the three coconuts, three times over the table or massage table. And I will be able to shave and cut my fingernails and everything tomorrow. But hopefully I will be a little more rested up after this therapy, that weakens you. So they said the next days of therapy, they are going to strengthen me, and that will be interesting to see. So anyway, during a therapy, I said, the mahātmā showed, just like in the Bhaktivedanta Hospital, they have six people at least or more, who go around and they talk to all the patients. And Christian, Hindu and Muslim, and according to their faith they encourage them to, “Listen, why don’t they chant tasbih?” Tasbih is a little islamic beads, or they are supposed to chant the name of Allah. And they also teach the Christians chain on rosary, so accordingly, and then whoever wants they teach them Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra, and they also teach them Bhagavad-gītā.
So we talked a few days ago to the owner of the KG hospital. It’s quite a big hospital, it got 200 beds, and it’s got all the time, they play Hare Kṛṣṇa maha-mantra tape. So we would like to suggested to him, and he said, our devotee care… or what you call it? A Spiritual Care department in his hospital. So he turned to, what do you call… Bhaktivinoda Swami, who was Sarvaiśvarya dāsa before. And he said, I am putting a flow chart and thing, He said, he is going to do it. I back it up. I will do, what you say. So it’s a great thing that we will see if this hospital allow us to do a Spiritual Care. We call that as ‘Ādhyātmika Department’ a spiritual department, then we will be able to bring many people to Kṛṣṇa. Mostly in the west… I was told by some people that preachers of other faiths, they approach the devotees… approach the people, and they say, “Can we pray for you? Can we pray for your good health?” So in the hospital you get sick, who is going to say, no? So then it’s okay. So then they sit by the side, “Oh Lord Jesus! Oh Lord…” whatever, and then they pray for your good health. If you recover, you know most people recover, and you think you will feel indebted that, these people prayed from me. And if you don’t recover that they don’t take responsibility. That’s just straight for people.
So, we would like to facilitate that, a kind of universal approach using the Prabhupāda books and Prabhupāda teachings will have a great effect on the people. So this is the first hospital in Coimbatore, that’s agreed to have a spiritual department. And I am… man by the devotees. It’s a good start. Let’s see what happens. When I was two months in the Bhaktivedanta Hospital, I got the firsthand to see a little bit, how the Spiritual department was working. They organized every Monday, they had a feast and lecture. They had so many people.
You see, there was one lady. She was a Bengali lady. She married someone from another faith. She didn’t have any faith in any kind of religion. She thought originally for taking money from people. But she was asked to read the Bhagavad-gītā for her father, who had terminal cancer of the lungs. He was in the ICU, the intensive care unit. So she was surprised. “Why are you asking me to read?” “So he is your father Isn’t it?” So she did it. And she said, “Wow, this is the first time. I don’t have to pay anything?” “No! Okay, if you want you can own this book. If you want to buyone, you can buy. You can borrow the book. You will need it.” So she started reading the book to her father and he got a lot of inspiration. He had chronic cancer. There was no hope anyway. So eventually he left his body. But the devotees performed the final rites for such people. They sprinkled Ganges water on his head, they gave a garland from the Deities, they do various rituals, which are given in śāstra, that are done for the departed souls. So she was so moved, “You do all this and it’s all free?” You have to charge for the medicine and for the treatment. But spiritual stuff, it’s all free. So then she started chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa. And she actually came, the same lady came to see me. And she said she chants 8 to 16 rounds. And she, pay for the prasāda distribution, some one day feast. And she sent many people to the temple. She was very positive and she was a devotee. But she had zero interest in Kṛṣṇa conscious, and at the end she became a devotee. And she is chanting every day rounds. So she wanted to see me. And I was happy to receive her. So I could see, you know firsthand how they transformed a person through the chanting of, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare. So you have any questions today?
Mahā Varāha dāsa: Yes!
Jayapatākā Swami: How many questions?
Mahā Varāha dāsa: Three questions.
Jayapatākā Swami: Only three.
Mahā Varāha dāsa: Report, and questions.
Jayapatākā Swami: From who?
Mahā Varāha dāsa: Siṁheśvara dāsa.
Jayapatākā Swami: Okay.
Mahā Varāha dāsa: The question first.
This is from Sevā Padmā devī dāsī from Gurugram.
Jayapatākā Swami: Again wow! Thank you for listening every day, giving questions.
Question: Dear Guru Mahārāja! Please accept my humble obeisances. How to chant śuddha-nāma? Will I be able to get kṛṣṇa-prema sometime?
Jayapatākā Swami: You see, the first question you asked was Sevā Padmā… Okay, we are disconnected for a moment, Sevā Padmā from Gurgaon, New Delhi. Two days ago, you asked about getting second initiation, if I am not mistaken, and then you said that sometimes you lost enthusiasm. Now, when you want to get second initiation, you should be a little fixed up. You shouldn’t lose your enthusiasm. Today you are asking about love of Godhead. In the Caitanya-caritāmṛta it is said,
nitya-siddha kṛṣṇa-prema ‘sādhya’ kabhu naya
śravaṇādi-śuddha-citte karaye udaya
[Cc, Madhya 22.107]
That kṛṣṇa-prema is within our heart, it is there as a… kṛṣṇa-prema nitya-siddha ‘sādhya’ kabhu naya, its not attainable by some kind of mundain system. It’s already there. It just has to be awakened. Just like you awaken a child, how to speak, how to talk, how to walk. They already have this ability within them, most of them. Unless they are sick, they have the ability. They simply learn from their parent. And in this way they are able to speak, and walk. So kṛṣṇa-prema is within you. You don’t have to worry about it. You got it already. It’s just that you have to awaken it. It’s lying dorment. Kṛṣṇa-prema nitya-siddha ‘sādhya’ kabhu naya śravaṇādi – The nine processes of devotional service, starting from hearing and chanting and remembering. You will be able to awaken this kṛṣṇa-prema from your heart. So if you want to awaken that kṛṣṇa-prema, you simply go on listening and go on chanting and go on remembering Kṛṣṇa. Practice the nine process of devotional service. And you are going to awaken that love of Kṛṣṇa in your heart.
Now Caitanya Mahāprabhu, He was especially merciful that He awakened in His followers love of Godhead very freely. He and Lord Nityānanda. In fact, even the rascal people like Jagāi, Mādhāi.
pāpī tāpī yata chilo, hari-nāme uddhārilo,
tāra sākṣī jagāi mādhāi re
You see that, pāpī tāpī, which means sinful people, further harder anyone there, they got delivered by the mercy of Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu. Same thing of the holy name – Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare. So this chanting is so powerful that it awakens our love of Kṛṣṇa. And that awakening of our love of Kṛṣṇa is the proof – Jagāi, Madhai. Jagāi, Mādhāi were the worst, society stunned, they were awakened with love of Godhead and the mercy of Lord Nityānanda and the mercy of Lord Caitanya. So much so that they were crying in ecstasy, crying in love for Lord Caitanya, Nityānanda. Haribol! How many of you… Sevā Padmā, you are the only one wants kṛṣṇa-prema? How many here wants kṛṣṇa-prema?
Devotees: Haribol!
Jayapatākā Swami: Wow! Everyone! Everyone hear them crying from the audience. So they are not the only one. It’s the secret.
Why someone else asked yesterday, what about our preaching to rich and the happy people, they don’t think, they need anything. You see, whatever they have, it’s nothing compared to love of Godhead. Nothing at all! Nothing! Nothing! Insignificant! If you want real unlimited happiness, that they get from the kṛṣṇa-prema; that they can get by chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare.
Now I’m going to answer the other question. Just let’s say the Dr. Ravindran, he came to see me, he is head doctor here, and he said that the good effects of this intensive care I took, maybe seen after three months from now. And then in six months, I should come back and do another therapy. One thing, I did notice is that on my right hand, getting a lot of a sense of feeling, and although I don’t have my full sense of touch yet, but a little bit, a little bit is coming and I’m a little too, and it feels like a part of me. This left hand is a normal, right hand is not normal yet, but a little bit, I start to feel it. So that’s one of the good effects. Let’s see what happens in the next week or two, that the other kind of therapy goes on. Strengthening therapy, they say that ideas that this medicine that they soaked in me for 14 days should get to every single cell in my body, and I should reach each cell, and then the cell will become rejuvenated and in re-enliven, and I will be hopefully restored to my full capacity. In the meantime, I can go on with physiotherapy as well as probably go on with some acupuncture. I was told that I should take acupuncture from a very experienced person, that many people, who do acupuncture they are not experienced and it can be dangerous. That’s what the doctors said. They weren’t against me taking acupunture, but they said it should be from some experienced person. Let’s see. I sent the different options that I know about to the health committee, and they are supposed to advise me or I go. The doctors advise that I can travel, you see, although this year, I travel mainly between one or two festival time I visited, but mainly I will be going from one therapy to another, until I get restored. So, but they said that, I should break journey out in as small units as possible, like 6 hours or something, or 4 hours. So I planned, you know to do like that, to break it up. They said, you should fully rest the first day after your journey. I used to just travel, I thought that jet lag would never catch up with me. But now they want to take it very careful and they want me to travel with easily… They said there is nothing professional against my traveling, but I should travel like this with a lot of brakes in between and and that’s more or less what they say. Fine.
Vrajeśvara Gaura dāsa: Yes, Guru Mahārāja!
Jayapatākā Swami: So, any other question we have.
Mahā Varāha dāsa: It is from Kālindī Sundarī Devī Dāsī, Columbus, USA.
Jayapatākā Swami: Kālindī Sundarī Devī Dāsī, from Columbus, USA. Columbus is a temple that has a majority of ladies, know? I visited several times. And there was a lady temple president and lady devotees there, that time Mālatī Devī Dāsī was a GBC there. I think she still is. And there was a lady… as I said lady temple president, so they are very fired up devotees. There are few male devotees got there. They live outside the āśrama as it is for the ladies. Is that the same way? Went this Sunday is the same way now in Columbus, you can write down to.... She has a question.
Mahā Varāha dāsa: The question is during book distribution…
Jayapatākā Swami: During the book distribution…
Mahā Varāha dāsa: Somebody asked us why you are thinking that your movement is the best? What is the right answer?
Jayapatākā Swami: Why do you think your movement is the best? What is the right answer? Well, the bottom line is we can say that, we are not saying that this is the best. We don’t know all the other movement are, so whatever we have encountered, we think this is giving love of Godhead and therefore, love of Godhead is the highest thing. All religions say, we should try to get love of Godhead. Christianity says, “Love God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind.” All the religions saying about love God, Allah. So this is a practical means how to do it. So any religion can practice Kṛṣṇa consciousness, it’s a universal practice. It’s not limited to only our followers, anyone can practice it. So like this having coming off very dogmatic and sectarian kind of approach to people, how Kṛṣṇa consciousness is able to work or not. And why don’t they try it?
We have something about Chile, one Christian nun and she took initiation. Now she is continuing alogn with her service as a nun. And initially we said, “Okay, you chant any name of God, chant some name of God.” She was chanting jesu christo, jesu christo, christo christo, jesu jesu – she was chanting the names of Jesus Christ. Then later she said, “Well, it’s almost like Hare Kṛṣṇa. Why don’t I try Hare Kṛṣṇa? Anyway, no one’s watching.” She chanted,
Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/
Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare
And she found that she was getting worse spiritual strength in the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra than the jesu christo mantra. And Jesus said, “He is the son of God. Everyone should love the father. Kṛṣṇa says, He is a father.” He is the seed giving father of all the living entities ahaṁ bīja-pradaḥ pitā [Bg. 14.4] (I was not sure about the word pradaḥ). I am the seed giving father to all the living entities. So in the Bhagavad-gītā, it tells us, in the other books like Kṛṣṇa, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam and Caitanya-caritāmṛta, how we can awaken that love of Kṛṣṇa. We just had question from Sevā Padmā from Gurugram, Haryana. And she wanted to know how she could get love of Kṛṣṇa. So that easily awaken by everyone through the chanting of Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare.
So another thing that Śrīla Prabhupāda said was that he was open to discuss with anyone, their religion. So, you know, if we have a better religion, we should accept, so nobody could present a better alternative than Kṛṣṇa consciousness. So in the end they accepted the Kṛṣṇa consciousness and the bhāgavata-dharma. Things come off a little universal in your presentation. And then as a people are open, then they will understand why Kṛṣṇa consciousness is the best.
Lets see… Did you get any reply?
Any other question?
How many questions, you don’t know?
Mahā Varāha dāsa: Another two…
Jayapatākā Swami: Another two more questions, lets see!
Mahā Varāha dāsa: Kṛṣṇa Vallabhī Devī Dāsī from Los Angeles:
Jayapatākā Swami: Kṛṣṇa Vallabhī Devī Dāsī from Los Angeles.
Question: Dear Guru Mahārāja, is it wrong to pray to Kṛṣṇa to make the other family members Kṛṣṇa conscious? Kṛṣṇa is the Supreme controller. So should I just depend on His mercy?
Jayapatākā Swami: You see, side by side, we should do both the things, you should see… no harm to pray to Kṛṣṇa that, your family members, husband or or children or dear ones, they also become Kṛṣṇa conscious, there is no harm. That is not a selfish, materialistic thing you are asking for. Kṛṣṇa wants them also become. And by our intervention, He want to find a reason to give them some special mercy. But at the same time, you need to also try to awaken them to Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Don’t just, all you offer one prayer to Kṛṣṇa and that’s it. Try to make your family members Kṛṣṇa conscious. That would be the best to do both things. And some of your family members are Kṛṣṇa conscious. Some of them like that, I don’t know all your family members. I know that some of them are disciples also of mine. And you see, if you are happy in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, that is the best way to influence others. They will also become inspired by your enthusiasm, by your liking it. And this is the month of Vaiśākha for the Tamils, for the Bengalis and other people around India, this is the first month of the calendar year. Apart from that, this is mentioned in Purāṇas as a month which is holy. And if you are vegetarian in this month, is recommended. You can try like, okay, there’s like half a month left, a little less than half. Try to get them to chant in this month at least on the Ekādaśī or on the month of Dāmodara, the months which are good to attract the new customers.
When I was at the hospital, in Bombay at the Bhaktivedanta Hospital. There was a man, who was previously a patient in a hospital and he had his wife and children had become devotees and they were a pure vegetarian eat kṛṣṇa-prasāda. He would be 350 days, 360 days a year, he will be Kṛṣṇa conscious. One day a year he will be eating meat and fish. He got all his friends and relatives to eat everything. So the Spiritual Care representative was asking, “Why you do that?” His wife had come in to deliver the child at the delivery ward and he said, “Well, you know, my friends, I want to satisfy them too, so one day a year, I just have.” “You are doing it all year long, why for one day you should break it?” They preach to him, they keep that one day also vegetarian. This is how all your friends things, those are not your real friends. “If they only are friends because you eat meat with them, what kind of friends are they? So they are like, they show him the kāraṇas (reasons) at the evening meet, even one day a year people takes the karma and what the kāraṇas, the Mṛgārī, the hunter, different examples. What kind of karma, you get by eating meat. So he decided, “Okay, I will give up, even eating one day and all year long.” So the mother and the children are very happy. Finally, our husband, our father is taking 100% Kṛṣṇa conscious. So don’t give up. Try to keep on influence, in a positive way. We say it without being pushing. And this way you can encourage them. This material world is a place of suffering and one… even if you are devotee, you will suffer, non-devotee suffer, but devotee after this life will go back to Godhead, back to the spiritual world. So we would like to encourage all the relatives are devotees. They should take out Kṛṣṇa conscious, they will be happy. The kind of sufferings in the material world, they can be happy, chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare, and they will be happy to engage in Kṛṣṇa’s service and at the end of life they will go back to Godhead. Haribol!
Here it is almost 8 O’clock here.
Mahā Varāha dāsa: This is from Siṁheśvara dāsa, Malaysia. A small report. Please accept my humble obeisances dear Guru Mahārāja! Yesterday at Seberang Jaya in Penang, His Holiness Kavicandra Swami and His Holiness Janānanda Goswami officiated the groundbreaking ceremony of Śrī Śrī Rādhā Kṛṣṇa temple project.
Jayapatākā Swami: Jaya!
Mahā Varāha dāsa: His Holiness Kavicandra Swami was in Bali and when he called, I said, you can attend another break event. Groundbreaking for temple, since in his last visit, he said every time he comes to Malaysia, there is some kind of breaking, opening or convention like that. So I did not want to let him down and offer the groundbreaking this time.
Jayapatākā Swami: Jaya!
Mahā Varāha dāsa: About 800 devotees attended from 10am morning till 1pm in the afternoon. Even though it was a working day. Leaders of National Council were present day, we had yajña, Vāsthu homa, launching of Rāma Foundation with Rāma Gold RC five launch. We missed Guru Mahārāja’s presence, but always remembered Guru Mahārāja’s blessing to make the project successful. 1st 60 points will be driven in honor of Guru Mahārāja from tomorrow. – Siṁheśvara dāsa, Malaysia.
Jayapatākā Swami: So for my 60th birthday, myself and and some other devotees are contributing 60 tiles to the temple project. So one for each year. And of course, if anybody else want to donate any tile, any tiles for any service, it’s not very expensive, you can go. The most expensive one is what about $2,000 and the cheapest one is about 200 ringgit. What’s that? That’s like $50. So we are giving 60 of the cheap ones. And very thankful to Kavicandra Mahārāja and Jayānanda Mahārāja for their participating in the groundbreaking. This is the land was given by the Government. It’s a little like a triangle of land, but it’s all different temples. There is a Thai Buddhist, there is Chinese Buddhist, there is Mariyamman. There is a… what do you call... Murugan temple, there is a Christian. So there is like all the minorities, they got there. And so there’s a Hare Kṛṣṇa center. So we have our guesthouse already built. And now laying the foundation stone, was laid on Akṣaya-tṛtīyā, the groundbreaking for the temple. And this will be a national temple. We are very grateful to the Government for giving us this land at a reduced rate. And it shows their vision that different minority religions also should have a place to be. So I regret that I could not with the program. I was supposed to attend the program, when they were installing the Deities. But, they sent my passport from Delhi to Bangalore and it reached late and I missed the fight. So I helped to install the Deity over the Internet. I said, I put my hand on the Deity, and this was before I was sick. And I had helped to install the Deity chanting the installation mantras, because the Deities… But then afterwards I went to the mid-GBC meeting and then I got sick, and then… Now maybe one of the places that I would like to go to for my treatment is Malaysia, let’s see. I am waiting for the health our committee to give their advice. In the meantime, I give my blessings to the Seberang Jaya project and pray that Kṛṣṇa will bless them with the… I heard many Chinese people also contributed tiles along with the Tamil Hindus, but also many chinese people. So very happy that we are getting our support from a multi racial background in Malaysia. And we pray that our temple will be successful and that we will be able to complete the temple. It’s a beautiful temple. It’s on the mainland of Penang state. There is like 13 states in… maybe 12 or 13 states in Malaysia. So one of the states is Penang state, and name is the island of Penang. It has a part of the mainland for Butterworth and Bukit Mertajam and Sebrang Jaya, these are all like a parts of the state of Penang. So we are fortunate that we got this land given in Penang in mainland and Malaysia is not a very big country. It’s easily accessible to all the people in the northern part of the country. And then sometime in the future, we will have a center, we have some land, we own in Kuala Lumpur in [?]. And there we will also intend to have a temple, in meantime we have one temple, which is a house we own, which is in house in Kuala Lumpur… What is that place called?
Mahā Varāha dāsa: Kajang.
Jayapatākā Swami: Kajang. So right now, that is functioning as the only temple in Kuala Lumpur. Although there is some centers in Klang, which is also in the same valley. It’s an hour drive and there is about 50 Nāma-haṭṭas that are connected with the Malaysia Kuala Lumpur temple. So there is a lot of devotees there. I am very grateful to all the devotees all around the country, for their enthusiasm and we hope that Sebrang Jaya temple will be completed on schedule and it’s a great opportunity for all… anyone who are watching to help, this temple get built. This is the minority Hindu country of 15% are Hindus or Indian and 35% are say Chinese or 30% and then 50-55% are Muslims. So it’s an islamic majority state, where all the different religions respect each other, but at the same time they give the rights to each religion to practice their own beliefs. So Hare Kṛṣṇa devotees, anywhere in the world, they can contact Siṁheśvara dāsa and help a little bit because the Hindus, they are minority, so they could use some help. Is there another question.
Mahā Varāha dāsa: One last one from Caitanya Avatārī.
Jayapatākā Swami: Caitanya Avatārī…
Mahā Varāha dāsa: From Bangalore.
Jayapatākā Swami: From Bangalore!
Mahā Varāha dāsa: How is your left eye now?
Jayapatākā Swami: Well, Acyutānanda dāsa, the doctor that Rādhānātha Swami sent with me says that, the eye has… eyelid has become stronger, but still doesn’t close 100%. At night he tapes it to shut, and Mādhava Kīrti devī dāsī from Atlanta, she sent me some weight. So I put a weight on it, on the eyelid and that helps me to close it. Otherwise they wanted to do operation and close one third of the eye. I don’t have to go through the operation because of the weight. The Mādhavānanda doctor, who is the director for the Bhaktivedanta Hospital, his good wife contributed a golden replacement. In face (Kṛṣṇa forbid) [inaudible]. We can use this golden weight. So right now we are still both the eyes don’t have a lateral movement, but I am able to… I don’t see double anymore so much. Very rarely, I see the single people, but there is a wobling effect and the both eyes; so that when I look at the people, I can see them, they are atleast the wobling effect gets affect. And when they are far away then more wobling so I am hoping that the Ayurvedic or whatever therapy will work to take out this... I mean, I can read the headlines in newspaper, to read the small thing, it is very difficult, because of the constant movemnet of the… What you call? The letters, that is a report on my eyes. So thank you very much again. They said tomorrow they are going to take me to the… to see the Dhanvantari Deity. And sometime shaving, cutting my fingernails. And what to you guess.
Mahā Varāha dāsa: What time wil be… [inaudible]
Jayapatākā Swami: They want to take me on the time of dark, because they’re saying that by right after the intensive therapy, one is still susceptible to get disease.
Vrajeśvara Gaura dāsa: There will be a class before we go to the temple, actually tomorrow.
Jayapatākā Swami: Are you sure?
Vrajeśvara Gaura dāsa: Because the doctor said that he will take a little late, since so much of crowd will be there. So he will come personally and will assist you. So we will start early and finish.
Yeah! At the same time that we don’t have time, we cannot cut-short the time. Because the massage therapy… that isn’t after even we have a special treatment.
Thank you, Hare Kṛṣṇa. And today, the last day of dhāra, as we from all the devotees from Coimbatore and offer our humble obeisances to all of you and we thank you for all your prayers and cooperation. Because this treatment, intensive treatment was very successful. On the first day of the dhāra, Guru Mahārāja felt feelings on his right side head. And today, before even the last day treatment was over, he had sensation on his right hand. It’s really a significant improvement and very happy news for all of us. And the doctors have decided, the doctor also very impressed by the medical miracle, what they call in the term, the fast recovery of Guru Mahārāja. And they have planned for a special treatment for him from tomorrow. The intense treatment is over today. But tomorrow, from tomorrow onwards, he won’t be house arrest like this intense treatment. He will be coming out and he will be visiting Dharavantari temple. And so tomorrow there will be a special treatment with milk and a special type of rice and medicine boilded, and they will be doing the kind of abhiṣeka, what I can call it as... similarly at 4:30 in the evening. And tomorrow’s class will be plus or minus 45 minutes maximum. We are not able to determine as yet, because the doctors are not specify the schedule. But from what they said is more or less the schedule is as of whatever is going on today, except for it is not so intensive and it is only a special treatment, which will strengthen Guru Mahārāja’s all the muscles. Thank you very much. Stay tuned. We will also be announcing the exact timing of tomorrow’s class. Hare Kṛṣṇa.
