Timeline of His Holiness Jayapataka Swami's Life - 1991-2000

Woke up at 4 am. Rushed to the temple hall. Few devotees were there for maṅgala-ārati.Chanted few rounds in the temple hall together with few devotees. Guru Mahārāja suggested to go for japa walk. Myself, Śrīniketana Prabhu, and few other devotees followed Guru Mahārāja. It was about 2 km walk. We were passing by fresh vegetables farm and sugarcane plantations. Suryadeva start rising up. Fresh and clean air. Cold and windy. Scenery was completely in mood of goodness. We came back to temple at 8 am. Guru Mahārāja was schedule to give Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta class. The subject was "Acceptance of Sannyāsa by Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu". It was really touching and lovely to hear about Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu especially from Guru Mahārāja. Many asked for the copy of tape that I recorded. Class went on for an hour and fifteen minutes. Later we went to nearby garden for the breakfast.

Before going for the Nāma-haṭṭa seminar Guru Mahārāja was preparing some notes. Seminar started at 11.45 am. 150 devotees from different Nāma-haṭṭa centres around Maritius attended the seminar. We served lunch on the stage itself while the other devotees were also taking their lunch. Guru Mahārāja was schedule to leave Maritius today to go to Mumbai to meet His Holiness Gopāla Kṛṣṇa Goswami. It was 4.30 pm, as I was busy packing his luggages. Seminar over at 4.45 pm. Guru Mahārāja came and took his shower. Before having his dinner, he login to check some important emails for him. There was only two hours more for his flight.

I think it was the prayer of all the devotees there who were requesting him to stay more since the day Guru Mahārāja arrived. They were really hankering for his association. Lord Kṛṣṇa fulfilled their desire. Guru Mahārāja received email from Gopāla Kṛṣṇa Mahārāja - requesting him to stay two more days in Maritius. As soon as the devotees heard this they pleaded Guru Mahārāja to stay more. Guru Mahārāja agreed. They themselves rearranged Guru Mahārāja's ticket. Guru Mahārāja took his early dinner at the garden with the devotees. From 7.30 pm onwards he was meeting devotees trying to help them in whatever way he can. Many devotees appreaciated his caring fartherly mood. About 20 devotees surrounded him and were asking questions regarding their spiritual life. The question-and-answer session went on till 11.30 pm. After that Guru Mahārāja chanted his leftover rounds for the day. Start from 12.30 midnight he was answering some important emails. By the time, I was completely ran out of my batteries. I was falling sleep like anything while waiting for him to go to bed. My head was completely down. Guru Mahārāja slept at 2.30 am.
