6 Mar 2026|English|Safari Lectures|Śrī Māyāpur, India

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-gurun dina tāriṇam
paramānanda-mādhavam śrī caitanya īśvaram
Harihi oṁ tat sat

Jayapatākā Swami: So this Kulina-grāma is so auspicious because all the residents were devotees of Lord Caitanya. Even a dog there was dear to Lord Caitanya! Haribol! So today you went to Agradvīpa and went to Cākhandī. How was that? I saw a video in Agradvīpa that you established the lotus feet of Lord Caitanya! Haribol! Gaurāṅga!

So, this is a very historical moment that Lord Caitanya’s presence is established in Gaura-maṇḍala Bhūmi. So there are certain places where Lord Caitanya personally visited. And other places where Lord Nityānanda came and some places, where they both came. Apparently, you are going tomorrow to Kulina-grāma and also Ādi-saptagrāma. Now, every year, the devotees from Kulina-grāma would visit Jagannātha Purī and visit Lord Caitanya. And Lord Caitanya gave them special sevā to bring jute ropes for the Ratha-yātrā. And so there are many pastimes in Kulina-grāma. Now, we know how Lord Caitanya had preached in Navadvīpa. And He sent Lord Nityānanda out. But then later He sent Lord Nityānanda back to Bengal. At that time, amongst other places, Lord Nityānanda  preached in Ādi-saptagrāma. And it is said that just as Lord Caitanya had inspired the people of Navadvīpa, Lord Nityānanda inspired the people of Ādi-saptagrāma. Ādi-saptagrāma was at the time had many gold merchants. And they were normally very materialistic. But somehow by the mercy of Lord Nityānanda, they became inspired in Kṛṣṇa consciousness! And they engaged in the saṅkīrtana movement! Now, there is a place there where Lord Nityānanda would stay. So, the seven sages have performed their tapasya in Ādi-saptagrāma. So this is an ancient place mentioned in the Purāṇas. So this is the place where Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī, one of the Six-Gosvāmīs was born and he grew up there. I think tomorrow you will see that place. Day after tomorrow.

So what will you see tomorrow? Kulina-grāma. So what is that place in Ādi-saptagrāma of Lord Nityānanda? Śrīla Prabhupāda is actually a descendant of Uddhāraṇa Datta. But he did not stress that very much, but he mentioned that in his books. So you will see that temple of Uddhāraṇa Datta. Like this, there were many very dedicated devotees who served Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityānanda.

It says that in the pond there the ankle bells of Lord Nityānanda are still present. Someone who can find them is very blessed!! The ācārya, Bhāgavata Ācārya, Haridāsa Ṭhākura stayed at his house, and the uncle and father of Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī would have daily satsaṅga. And everyone requested Haridāsa Ṭhākura to tell about the glories of the holy name. And he said that even by accidental nāmābhāsa, chanting the holy name, you can get liberation. There was this young tax collector who said how is this possible? The yogīs meditate for births to get liberation and he is saying by accidentally chanting the holy name, one can get liberation. So this is not possible. Haridāsa Ṭhākura said, it is possible. So the brāhmaṇa said that if it is not possible then the nose of Haridāsa Ṭhākura should fall off! And Haridāsa Ṭhākura said if it is not possible, I will cut off my own nose. All the Majumadāras protested and told the brāhmaṇa that you are fired! You have insulted our honorable guest! And later that brāhmaṇa he got leprosy and his nose fell off! So, you are going to all these places and so I will not see you tomorrow. Maybe if I am able I will go to Ādi-saptagrāma, I don’t know. I just wanted to address all of you that this is a very sacred place and I am very happy that you are going there. Hare Kṛṣṇa!

Kṛṣṇe matir astu!
