20230507 Addressing JSSS Gathering

The following is an address given by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on May 7th,2023 in Dallas, Texas, USA. The address was given to the JSSS devotees.

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānandaṁ mādhavaṁ śrī caitanya iśvaram

Hariḥ oṁ tat sat!

Jayapatākā Swami: I am very glad that you are all present today! And that you have been having all kinds of satsaṅga! We see that it is very important that devotees spend this time as human beings serving Kṛṣṇa. And serving Kṛṣṇa, we get spiritual bliss! Every night that I am here, I speak on the Caitanya pastimes. And Lord Caitanya is Kṛṣṇa, who came to experience being a devotee. And in the mood of Rādhārāṇī He is giving out the mercy to everyone! Last night, we read how Lord Caitanya, He miraculously escaped from His room. And He ended up at the entrance to the Jagannātha Purī temple. There He was in an unusual physical condition. And He was returned to normal by the loud chanting of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra. And then He asked, “How did I get here?” And Svarupa Dāmodara Gosvāmī said, “I will tell You everything, come back to Your residence first.” So Lord Caitanya would come in such ecstasy that He did not even remember what He did! So we hope that all of you get spiritual bliss, Haribol! that by the mercy of Lord Caitanya you can get love of Kṛṣṇa!

Haribol! So Śrīla Prabhupāda, in 1973 in London, he had his Vyāsa-pūjā, he said he wanted all his gṛhastha followers to be paramahaṁsa. He said that of the gṛhasthas, what to speak of the sannyāsīs and brahmacārīs?! I am very grateful for devotees, for couples, who are planning how to expand the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement. In this way, by thinking how to expand the service of Kṛṣṇa, one can actually be a paramahaṁsa.

Most people in the material world are planning how they can be materially happy. But in spite of all their best efforts there are always some problems. But if one serves Kṛṣṇa, they can actually be happy. That is the secret! We are grateful for Śrīvallabha dāsa, he is foreseeing the preaching in the Middle East and his good wife, Sītā Cāru devī dāsī, she has been preaching to the ladies. Also, Sarvajaya Mādhava dāsa and his good wife have been preaching here in Dallas. Also, like I am very grateful to all of you for chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa and in this way practicing bhakti-yoga. Thank you very much, this is the secret for success in this Kali-yuga. We hope that all of you are reading Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books and applying this in your daily life. Hare Kṛṣṇa!
